I know that the NBA is a global game, but I am not sure everyone in other countries feel the need to get there as soon as possible, like kids in the U.S.

Maybe Furphy's parents will play a bigger role, and he will come back for at least another year. I say that because, one, he is pretty young, comparatively, and two, it's possible that, if money issues exist, the NIL can alleviate the hardship, and he may actually make more money through NIL than while he would be getting seasoning in the G League.

Just a couple of thoughts.

REALLY curious what happens with Elmarko. He says he’s coming back, but Yesufu said the same thing. Self has no issue forcing guys out, so I’m interested to see what he does here.

Elmarko looks so bad for long stretches then occasionally you see a flash of NBA level athleticism (which is what Yesufu and Pettiford just didn’t have). If he comes back, I’ll take that as confirmation that Self thinks he can improve and contribute. Because we know Self will force out guys that just don’t have it.
Elmarko is going to be good someday. Like Elijiah Johnson good.

I guess I don't even see it as bullshit and I'm surprised people are up in arms over it. In college basketball when a guy goes up for a two handed dunk and someone tries to come from behind to block it and the dunk is missed, it's called a foul 99.999% of the time and it moves to 100% if the guy flies awkwardly off the rim like he did. Your odds improve of getting no call if this was the NBA, but really only if you are a superstar like Lebron or a guy know for defense. Some random dude from Samford certainly isn't going to get it. I thought this was just accepted common knowledge.

That one inbound late in the game where he was running under a screen toward the ball and wasn't even looking displayed that very well.

Mildly curious how they gave up 50 second half points to freakin' Samford, but not curious enough to watch where I left off up 15.

At least they survived one round... going into the 2nd round with a "house money" mentality...

KU could get destroyed (granted, I said on Selection Sunday Gonzaga really hasn't done much all season with only a couple wins against ranked teams)... Texas should get destroyed by Tennessee. I had a feeling the Big 12 would struggle and obviously the SEC is even worse so far.

"Next year" might finally be here for Iowa State though!

They keys vs Gonzaga are pretty obvious.

1. Gonzaga can’t go crazy from 3
2. Gonzaga doesn’t have much size inside. Dickinson and Adams have to hit their bunnies and take advantage. Their 2 bench bigs have a bit more size, but still should be a favorable matchup.
3. KU doesn’t need to light it up from 3, but also can’t be ice cold. Furphy and Timberlake each hitting a few with Dajuan or maybe Dickinson hitting the occasional wide open one is what we need.

I'd be just fine with ISU finally having their year, unless by some outlandish miracle we face them.

Harris has fallen off a cliff. Self loves him so he's not going anywhere. KJ is going to be a starter. Dickinson comes back we have 2 slots left. Both have to make 3's at a better than average clip or we are going down this same path again next year.

I know Self loves KJ, but Bidunga is one of the highest ranked recruits in school history. It’s not ridiculous to think he can start with Dickinson.

If Dickinson leaves, then obviously Bidunga just slides in at the 5.

I’d expect KJ to start at first, but we’ve seen high level recruits leave Self no other option. Doke and Embiid both did it.

I haven't been on in awhile. I've been friggin swamped and KU blows.

But watching that game last night was brutal.

KU sucked ass. That was a big part of it.

But FFS they fouled every dude 10 times a possession, and the refs let a lot go, but even the amount called it made the game damn unwatchable. And those 2 short guards were just insufferable.

All that dogshit made the good plays Samford made barely register (and they made a lot of big plays). Maybe it was the mood I was in, but that kind of basketball just pisses me off.

The big news item will be the bullshit foul call on Timberlake. That was a hell of a play by the Samford kid and goddamn that foul call sucks. As a been there done that guy, I feel bad for the kid. But man, there were a shitload of uncalled fouls on them that also impacted the game.

And MOTHER**** them for calling 3 dogshit charges on Harris. I about threw my TV. Dude ended up with 3 fouls and one of them was legit.
