The Motorcycle Discussion Thread
I figure there are some motorcycle guys/gals on CP, so I thought we could have a place to talk all things Motorcycles.
Tire Mount and Balance Prices (as of 10/29/16) Prices based on if you remove the wheels yourself and bring the wheels and new tires with you: Cycle Gear - $35 per wheel if you buy tires from them. $58 per wheel if you buy tires elsewhere Rawhide - $65 per wheel (assuming it would be the same at other HD dealers. they book it at 1/2 hr per wheel) C R Cycle Tires (DeSoto) - $30 per wheel Cheapest I've found my Michelin Commander II's. Seem like they have good prices on other brands too. http://www.jakewilson.com - Free 3 day shipping on orders over $75 Last edited by Dayze; 10-29-2016 at 09:02 PM.. |

the stock pipes are decent. definitely louder than my stock Vstar 650 pipes....which you could hardly hear at all. But the 72s pipes are certainly tame.
I plan on putting pipes on it over the winter; and I'll keep the baffles in. After that the high flow air filter + ECM reset/fuel mapping and Dyno.

yeah, I hear you can install either Pipes, OR high flow AC w/out messing with the fuel mapping.
There are lots of guys that put both on w/out the remapping and/or Dyno; I've heard doing so really suck away the power. And, it'll run lean. screw that. I want the thing to sound like it's supposed to and run like it's supposed to. Though I hear the ECM reset/remap is a tad $$. plus the $ of a dyno. But, it'll be worth it.

hell yeah.
I'm surprised at how inexpensive a lot of mods are (sans pipes etc). Over the winter, I plan on relocating the ignition and coil to the left side (most likely will need to remove the horn. which, BTW is louder than my cars). It'll free up a lot of area in front of the front cylinder. and 1.5" - 2" tank lift / hide some of the wires.
