What I posted was true and you know it so just stop with the 6th grader debate mentality. C'mon man, you really don't think it's true?

thanks to phillip for getting my point. It was the most basic way of dispelling any notion of right/wrong and avoiding getting to deep into a Sanchez discussion. Not an argument for Qb rating. I know it's a worthless stat if games aren't watched. OTWP is INTENSE! and Hardcore! he should join NEPAchiefs.

I can also see the Tim Couch argument with some QB's. Different team, better supporting cast, perhaps a franchise QB...

I was referring to his individual performance, compared to his (awful) play in NY. I think he may have been an even worse QB here than he was for the Jets, because the Chiefs had virtually none of the strengths that allowed the Jets to carry him. How that compares to cassel is basically irrelevant, for the reason you mention.

I remember I posted a thread about my Dad getting ready to pass and someone posted something inappropriate (I don't know what it was because it was removed before I read it). Almost the entire board publicly busted his chops for being an asshat. He apologized and quit being one. There were other instances of this too, some learned from it and others just pretty much got ignored when they didn't learn (without an ignore function). Maybe it's because of the rep system but you really don't "see" people being called on inappropriate/unpleasant comments so much, they just get neg repped and there is no public humiliation in that so why care how you post. Of course I could be all wet too.

And as much as people are trying to cling to the false narrative of Houston's injury being the genesis of poor defensive play - it's just not true. If you remember there were some of us, myself included - that said it was unrealistic to expect the defense to perform at a historic level - especially considering the randomness of turnovers, which we were living by. Those concerns were met with resistance, but have turned out to be well founded. I don't think Houston returning guarantees the defense returning to form - mainly because it really wasn't playing that great before he was injured. I saw some speculation yesterday that made me shake my head: "If Houston didn't get hurt, we'd be 13-1 right now." To which I responded, "On the flip side of that, if we hadn't faced a run of 4th string QB's, we would have been 6-3 leading into the bye." Anywho...to your point... I think any rational fan realized that the D would only carry us so far. I think the offense has a much better chance of sustaining their play than the defense of raising theirs - and that is based solely on our upcoming opponents, and the strengths of each team. |

I was on the "wait and see" camp with Cassel, but it didn't take me long to switch to hating him. I even hated him during his "Pro Bowl" year. He seems to be doing pretty well for the Vikings now, but I have only watched a few plays and I can't stand to even look at the guy. It could be another mirage though, like 2010s results, instead of seeing how it happened. |

Actually that really isn't true. His strength was always the play action pass. You pound the rock with Charles and then play action to Bowe.

I know part of the appeal of this site is that we don't weed out football, but perhaps it's time to start a non-sports forum that is not moderated, putting DC, pictures, and media as a subforum of that. Then having a sports forum that is somewhat moderated. |
