Chiefs Disappointed in McCluster - Page 28

Bla bla bla, he's a playmaker, he has two touchdowns already, whatever.

He has seven catches for 93 yards. 1/3 of that yardage came on one play. At least two of those are screen passes I believe.

That ****ing sucks.

This guy needs to be a threat as a WIDE RECEIVER. He hasnt made a single play down the field. I'm not even talking 20 yards. How about 10? How about coming off the line, putting your foot in the ground, getting open and giving Cassel a target?

I'm not willing to accept the idea that Cassel is so god awful he makes all our wide receivers look terrible.

McCluster hasn't done shit yet. And he was utter garbage in Indy.

Don't buy any of his ****ing t-shirts.

I am glad we have McCluster. Am I glad we blew a high 2nd round pick? No. But having him as a Chief gives us that Reggie Bush game changing ability that is undeniable even if he is fragile like Bush.

How much has McCluster really done? Until the coaching staff can figure out how to get him involved on a regular basis, this was a gimmick pick.

I'm not saying he isn't capable of great things, but they certainly aren't doing a very good job of getting him involved on offense. Yesterday -4 yards rushing & 1 catch for 7 yards.

Haven't rewatched the game or anything, but Dex does require the respect of the defense. So if he flex's out wide or to the slot out of the backfield, and is in there with TJones or Jamal, it pulls the attention of a safety, cuz a linebacker can't cover him. Giving our RBs a better chance at getting a great chunk of yards. Not everything is defined by his statistics, much like Reggie Bush. Watch when he's in the game, he opens a lot of things up for other players.

That being said, his production could be better, I think it will over the next year or two. Rarely does a WR make a great impact as a rookie, especially someone who has to learn the details of so many different positions like Dex does. I think he'll make some great plays for us over the years.

I'm disappointed in his return game. He's obviously got the speed and break away ability, but he's TRYING to make things happen and at least in yesterdays game he was largely ineffective. He's just like Dante Hall early in his career...took him a couple years to figure out that he needs to just return the ball and look for holes and opportunities and not force it...hopefully he'll turn into Dante Hall of 2002-2005.
