During his first press conference he made it sound like he was going to do everything possible to solve the case. The problem was that he had no jurisdiction in Missouri and had no access to police information. That's why I made the comment a few days ago that he was going to walk around the neighborhood and that would be the extent of his involvement. Apparently that walk-around ended yesterday or today.

Missing baby's family hires Van der Sloot attorney


KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — A prominent New York City defense attorney has been hired to represent the parents of a missing Kansas City baby.

Joe Tacopina told reporters Monday that he had been hired to represent Jeremy Irwin and Deborah Bradley. His past clients have included Joran Van der Sloot, the Dutch man suspected in the 2005 disappearance of Natalee Holloway in Aruba.

Tacopina praised Kansas City police for their investigation but insisted the parents have "nothing to hide."

Bradley told NBC's "Today" show in an interview aired Monday morning that she believes she will be arrested in her daughter's Oct. 4 disappearance. She told Fox News in another interview that she was drunk and may have blacked out. But she insists she did nothing to harm her daughter.

From what I heard Tacopina can't practice law in Missouri, so he has to work with a local firm as an adviser.

The other odd thing is that the mom doesn't want her boys to be interviewed to protect them from all this mess. Yeah, right. Well, it could be that an 8-year old might fill in some missing info that will point the finger at her and she'll have none of that.
