Who stood out in tonight's game?

I wasn't able to watch it, but I heard about Maclin. About time we have a player that won't take any shit. How did Tyreek do? Who else stood out? Thanks.

It's a meritocracy and it's working like it should.

Conley's running with the 2s because he's earned that. So now Wilson's sitting 3rd. I expect that Streater will displace him soon enough.

But Wilson's still an NFL receiver and he'd get a lot of run on several other teams. Keep on layering the depth chart and if he keeps sliding down it, so be it. But it's silly to just say "**** Wilson" when he's been a solid, if flawed, player for us the last couple of seasons.

It's the same situation we're looking at with Mauga. Mauga's not a perfect football player by any stretch and in a perfect world, you upgrade on him. But while Conley has proven to be an upgrade, Wilson, Alexander and March have not. So until one of them does, you start Mauga.

Don't let go of a solid branch until you've grabbed the next one.

Hill is currently higher on the depth chart than Streater. If Wilson loses that job, I think it's to Hill.

Chris Jones needs to play early and often. He's already our best interior pass rusher, and could be a huge difference maker while Houston is out.

Hill has likewise done nothing in game action.

We'll see, but I think Streater's veteran status will win ties. The way they used him last week almost suggested that they're comfortable with the knowledge they have on him and instead wanted him out there with Murray to give him a solid target to throw to.

If Streater were really in some kind of roster competition, they'd have at least had him out there with Foles. So either he's getting cut outright, or he's already established himself as the 3/4 and they were just looking to get Murray some time with an established veteran WR (while simultaneously giving Hill a shot with the 2s).

Hill's looking like a camp warrior as well. Won't go forward on returns and isn't getting nearly the space he was said to be getting once he's facing full defenses instead of just picking on CBs 1 on 1.

This has been an odd year for camp reports. I don't know that I think any of them have been worth the bandwidth at this point. I guess we'll find out when the lights come on in week 1 but so far, it looks like a whole lot of fluff.

I disagree. I think Hill's route running has looked good and he's done a good job of catching the ball when he's had the opportunity. Would've had a TD is Foles didn't lead him out of bounds against the Seahawks, and he also would've beat Sherman for the 1st on the pass that Foles was late and high on.

Also, I can't remember if it was Paylor, but somebody that has been at camp said they haven't been using Hill like they were in practice, and they believed they were hiding him a bit. No gadget plays or deep balls yet.

He hasn't gotten as much run with the 1's as I'd thought he would, based on camp reports.

I'd rather see Streater in the slot this year instead of Wilson.

I'm confident that if Streater demonstrates that he'll outperform Wilson, that's exactly what will happen.

But remember, oftentimes the slot can be the most complicated spot in the offense due to the number of option routes that are dependent on the look you get from the defense. If Streater doesn't know this offense backwards and forwards, you can get some real disasters over the middle.

I'd want to be damn sure that he and Smith are in lockstep on their reads before I made that switch as we already know that Smith and Wilson have solid chemistry.

You can put Streater outside with Maclin in the slot.

That was the second pass thrown by Foles to Wilson in that series and yes, it was behind him.

All Wilson needed to do to catch the first pass was jump.

He didn't.

Hell, even keeping Branch and Sean Smith while letting Berry go would have been a better plan. They have totally ****ed up handling Berry from day 1.

1. The drafted a corner in the top 5 and put in him down in box(stupid crennel)
2. They waited 3 years and then realized they needed to covert him to Free Safety for the money level he was at.
3. They didn't take every cent they could from Berry last year when they had the chance. They should have know clear back then what he was going to ask for and that they weren't going to meet his demands
4. Tag/trade for Berry this year would have been a pipe dream but what the hell

Instead of that we end up with a pissed off and overpaid box safety playing out of position at free safety, where he's not even at his best.

Remember how i was so pissed because we didn't get one of the stud cornerbacks in the 1st round? Everyone said that i was being stupid because we have Gaines.

yea, well **** off and kiss my ass with that shit

We needed a stud corner in the 1st round AND still have Gaines for the slot.

I hear you and you're right about Gains in that that's probably where he would preform the best. This defense, even when healthy needs two stud CB's. It needs them even more now without Houston. I think they were going to go CB in round one, but the Bengals grabbed the last stud on the board with their pick. The situation they're in now could prevent them from being the team many expected. The offense will need to pick up the slack and guys will need to step up on defense or this most promising of seasons could get ugly. it is what it is now.

I've stated several times that the camp reports aren't matching the performances on the field and an even closer look at the Rams game further boosted that notion.

That said, while Hill has failed to set the world on fire, as was reported in camp, his hands and route running look like those of a veteran player, not a 5th round rookie that played at Alabama State last year.

We might not see the TC Hill until Week 8. Maybe we don't see him until the 2017 season. But at some point in time, he'll have figured out the nuances of the game and will no longer be "thinking". When that point comes, he should thrive.
