Disappointed in McCluster

Bla bla bla, he's a playmaker, he has two touchdowns already, whatever.

He has seven catches for 93 yards. 1/3 of that yardage came on one play. At least two of those are screen passes I believe.

That ****ing sucks.

This guy needs to be a threat as a WIDE RECEIVER. He hasnt made a single play down the field. I'm not even talking 20 yards. How about 10? How about coming off the line, putting your foot in the ground, getting open and giving Cassel a target?

I'm not willing to accept the idea that Cassel is so god awful he makes all our wide receivers look terrible.

McCluster hasn't done shit yet. And he was utter garbage in Indy.

Don't buy any of his ****ing t-shirts.

Going against popular opinion until the guy actually screws up (because everyone does at some point), so you can say you were right about something. Great football prowess and insight.

McCluster has sucked all year and the popular opinion is pretty much that he blows.

It took people awhile but eventually they saw my wisdom.

This guy has 0 chance of making a big play in the playoffs.

He's a rookie. Why are we expecting him to be the one to make the big plays? He plays his part.

Dex isn't getting used right. They need to involve him a lot more in the passing game. Need to stop running him. I don't blame him at all for return yards because the blocking has been atrocious.

What's interesting about him right now is that he's not been effective a regular slot receiver. Arguably, he's been an effective decoy (on fake WR end arounds and yesterday, we saw a fake screen on the first play to Bowe). But to be effective, he needs to make more plays like the key 3rd down conversion he made in the first drive. That being said, it seems like once every 2 games, he's good for ripping off a huge play. Strangely, I don't think you can find another player on the roster with as much hard luck as he's had. He had one big play whistled dead when the ball was clearly still live, a punt return last week where Donald Washington stupidly got in the way of a possible big touchdown, a big play 2 weeks before that called back on a ticky-tack holding call that didn't even affect the outcome of the play, and I think before injury he had one big play called back too. If I remember correctly, 3 of those plays would have been 50 or more yards.

It's not accurate to say he's been ineffective. He's a big play guy for now (despite what the stats say) but yes, he needs to eventually evolve into more than that.

He's just a rookie and playing a new position. Give the guy a chance, Dante Hall didnt exactly tear it up as a rookie neither.

You know who's not disappointed in McCluster? Michael Silver's son.

“You probably have 31 jerseys (I know u don’t have the raiders!) and u make him put each one on and you send the appropriate pic to the appropriate exec! Lol”

– Text Saturday morning from Chiefs coach Todd Haley, after receiving a photo of my 11-year-old son clad in a Dexter McCluster(notes) jersey, freshly snatched from under the tree.

actually saw McClusters first legit WR route and catch yesterday.

now if he can just do that 80 times each year he might be worth a 2nd round pick.

A lot of you have a lot of crow to eat over this. This guy sucked this year and blew filthy AIDS-ridden goats in the playoff game. I was livid with the way they tried to force the ball to him. He should try to get open within the pattern like real wide receivers.

This dude needs to go to Bowe's WR camp and study his ass off to pan out.

Bottom line: we spent a second rounder on a wide receiver and we need to spend another high pick on a receiver and bring in a free agent this offseason because of what happened this year.
