but please don't start in on this 'Alex shouldn't play 3rd because one time a long time ago he couldn't hit when he played 3rd' or 'he's a gold glove left fielder' because the stats are going to back me up on this...
A gold glove LF'er means nothing...and this year, thus far, he has played slightly above replacement level at left. I mean...LF and 1B are so far and away the most meaningless defensive positions it's not even close. |

I wouldn't say a gold glove LF'er means nothing, but in comparison to other positions, it's definitely less important.

However, making these moves so you can get Dyson in the lineup more, seems to be an exercise in futility.
And I'm not sure Gordon could play replacement level 3rd base right now. |

The problem is that you are moving Gordo to make room for a .250 slap hitter. |

3B is a total reaction position
you don't forget how to play 3B and it's 100% instinctual in the MLB |

So essentially, an average LF'er, or Matt Holliday, won't necessarily kill you, but he can absolutely hurt you if you don't set the rest of your lineup/pitching staff to hide him. |

I wonder how long Moose gets in the Royals organization, even if he never plays up to his draft position? You know Dayton won't ever be able to give up on his first born.
