Keep f***ing doubting Alex Smith

The title of the thread says it all....

**** you doubters. He plays with heart, and he continues to get the job done. You people who bash Alex, I don't even consider true fans. He plays his heart out every week, and you continue to bash him...

Keep bashing him, I'll keep backing him.

And like I've said all along, he'll get his chances against the big boys, and we'll see what happens. If they sign him to a 5 year extension and then ignore the position in the offseason after winning ~10 games with nothing special to show for it followed by a first round loss, I might start to get the feeling that I've been on this ride before.
meh, whatever... seems more like some of you have made up your minds and dug in too deep to ever appreciate anything this guy could do for you. That's fine. It is always the excessively vocal minority that makes it seem like KC and the fans hate him... but I would guess most KC fans that don't waste much time bitching on forums are all very happy and excited for the season.

All I've dug into is the notion that anything has been proven at this point as far as thinking this is any different than any other regime/retread QB, along with my opinions on what it takes to win deep into the playoffs, which is what all the arguing is about.

The claims of "hate" and "crying" are largely far off base and mostly a black and white argument that if you're not in the "they're 3-0, everything is fine (except the offensive line, of course)" camp, you're just never going to be happy.

People can't seem to separate the present with what the debate is all about, even though myself, duncan, OtWP, etc; have said several times that 3-0 is nice, but we've been on this ride a hundred times and we're discussing what it takes to win in the playoffs.

Most people seem to be in agreement that the offense needs to improve... who, how long it takes, etc; is up for debate, obviously... but, that's what it comes down to, and there's no "hate" in stating the truth.

The Eagles game was fun. I'm actually finding time to watch them again, which is a big difference from the past two seasons (and even parts of 2010, with such a shitty schedule). Looking forward to games with the big boys for the real tests (which could come as soon as this weekend). I promise you there's no misery.... jadedness, sure, but no misery.

Often enough, there is truth into this. But no man, there's something far more insidious going on than just this. Saying it is "nice to be 3-0" but then proceeding to bash everything left and right immediately after paints a different picture. There is a lot misery going on here that can not be masked by the simple utterance of "oh, 3-0 is nice." People are still pissed off and filled with hate and anger... even over these 3 victories... and if we are honest, we really know why.

Yeah man.. I get it. I get that you guys have suffered long and hard. I didn't do that to you. I am just (if anything) trying to support the Chiefs and be optimistic.

Probably wouldn't even say a nasty word to any of you, if you would just not take that support and be belligerent in turn.

All of you guys that think this way sound like a girl who's afraid to date because of getting hurt in the past. When you lived in Philly someone was trying to get you to date Alex Smith but you found out he was already taken so you didn't try. 3 -4 years later you find out he's available and now you're dating. He's done his best to try to win you over and show you that he won't hurt you, by not giving his balls to other girls, running in front of angry mobs to make sure you get to where you need to go safely, and throwing little hints to your friends that this relationship can go deep. What'ya say

The whole thing with "some fans will never be happy" is nothing new here. Yes, some seem to complain throughout the game threads no matter what is going on and always focus on the negatives. They're complainers. Nothing new in life, and I know for a fact that it's been going on here and it's probably been a part of most sports message boards since the beginning of sports message boards.

There are others though who get lumped into this group, who are simply tired of watching a team that's won 3 playoff games since 1970 and none in 2 decades, and clearly doesn't get it. Yeah, we're jaded, which means apathetic... we're past being angry and miserable. We don't have the energy for that any longer. We aren't "bashing everything"... we're stating the same concerns we've stated for at least 2 decades about a team that's clearly ignored the most important position in sports for 4 decades (excluding Joe Montana). And to our surprise, not only does the franchise still not get it, some fans who have been watching all along still don't get it either.

So yeah, it kind of sucks to aspire to cautious optimism... I forget which 49er convert I was talking with yesterday, but my view point on Kansas basketball (and other teams) is 180 degrees the other way, and I'd love to one day get that back, because those 2-3 weeks in January are pretty damn entertaining, and I think we've waited long enough to be part of that again.

I really do want to be optimistic without any hindrance of caution and frustration. Though the current reality is that KC has another game manager that is reminiscent to the 90's era ( excluding Montana).

Well just do it and enjoy the ride for what it is. I never understand why people put up these walls to protect their emotions. What's the worst that will happen? The Chiefs lose all the rest of their games and get a new QB next offseason. Boo-hoo? Will your whole world come crumbling down?

Whether SF or KC, I for one am going to be happy and optimistic. If they suck? Then oh ****ing well... life goes on. Would my disappointment be all that increased if the team(s) fail and I had predicted them to be great? Either way, it sucks... but you shrug it off.

Not telling people how to be.. just suggesting. I can see people expecting misery if KC did jack-shit nothing different in the offseason... but they changed up damn near everything.

Not sure what kind of people we're dealing with here Mac. So it's hard to tell where their true priorities are. Which makes it hard to gauge a persons level of insecurity based on the very little we know about them.

I'd like to add this and I think it plays a pretty huge part in thinking optimistically for some that are on the fence.

KC's offense has the lowest percentage of stability compared to any other team in the league, over-all they are the 5th lowest. Look at all of those teams records on this list and tell me there's nothing to be optimistic about...

Raiders 1-2
Cards 1-2
Jags 0-3
Chargers 1-2

Of course you don't understand you are fairweather band wagoner. You are talking to the most passionate fanbase in the NFL we live and die Chiefs. As little kids we were so joyous because of Derrick and the 90's Defense, but at the end we got our hearts broken year after year thus became jaded. We all want to feel like kids again rooting for our favorite team but we don't want to get burned again.

As I stated before your a fairweather fan that hops on the next big thing because you don't understand unwavering loyalty.

Bandwagoning from a SB team to the worst team in football? Wow... how cute that accusation is. First, I am not a Chiefs fan. I am a 49ers fan that has taken an appreciation of the Chiefs and keeping up with their progress.. all the while, always keeping SF first and foremost. My loyalty is not wavering in any way. Can you get that yet?

You are just pouting and pointing fingers like a child now because you feel that your character and fanhood has been challenged. Just grow up, learn to be less of a pussy, and you will be fine. Enough of this "you don't know what it's like!!!" crybaby shit. Be a man, and quit hiding behind your negativity.

Loyalty you don't get it, and I already called you out on your Smith stalking condescending attitude too.
