My biggest issue is that without the skills, you don't have skill checks anymore. The only thing remaining is charisma checks. I think it takes away a lot from the game. They simplified it a bit too much I think.

I'm sure the map differs somewhat from the real thing, but the major landmarks are there and I assume they put a little effort into keeping it in the ballpark. As far as settlement building, it's a pain to figure out, but you really don't have to build much in the way of structures. For most settlements you can just plop down a few water pumps and turrets and assign someone to a supply line if you have the perk. Maybe add a few beds. And you really don't need to do hardly any of it. I still can't get anyone to work at a weapon vendor. I built other types of vendors and people come and work. But nobody will work at the weapon vendor. I tried moving the stall, building a new stall at another settlement, and nobody will work at the weapon shop. I get the resource assigned message, the little Fallout Boy shows green, nope. The combat is definitely better than previous games. I've played plenty of games with better shooting mechanics, but I've certainly played worse. They really are going to have to move on to a new engine though. As far the skills being removed, it didn't really change anything. You still have to put points in perks to lockpick or hack terminals. In the old system, you could have a charisma of 1 and up your speech skill and pass everything. This way makes more sense because the check is based on charisma. Pick a master lock? Not if you don't have the perks for it, same as it was with skills. And you need 4 perception to get the perks instead of 1 perception and a high lockpicking skill. |

All of my vendors are working fine. I just set up deluxe booths for every type of trade at the castle.
If I had a complaint, it would be that I wish you could see what each settler was assigned to. As it stands now, I assign a random settler to a vendor booth, and I have to make sure my food production doesn't go down because that person was previously assigned to the garden. It was easy to tell them apart when I only had three or four at a settlement. But it's hard trying to remember faces when you've got 17+ at your bigger settlements. |

Trying to decide if this is my next game. Don't have a ton of time for gaming anymore so like to get it right and basically don't have any current gen game for my PS4. Go for it or am I better of with something like Witcher 3?

As far as Fallout 4, if you liked Fallout 3, you'll like this. They pretty much moved the game to a new setting, tweaked the level/perks system, and added settlement building. It's not the innovative RPG I was hoping for, but it's been very entertaining so far. |

I have MaCready's missions done, and received a wicked perk for doing so: it's called the head hunter perk, or something like that, but whenever I am in VATS I have a 95% chance of hitting the enemy in the head. I have used a shotgun in vats, aimed at the head of a super mutant 100 yards away and popped his head off. I love this perk!

The combat is repeatative but the story and graphics are wonderful. Fallout has kind of strayed a bit from its RPG roots but it's still addictive as hell. Also, if you're playing on a PS4 and you haven't played Bloodborne yet, the new dlc (15+ hours?) hits today and should cement the game as game of the year for me. |
