The Evolution of the Planet

I think to understand the nature of the problem that exists here today it is important to reflect on how we arrived here. For those that don’t know, ChiefsPlanet was created to get around the vast restrictions placed on posters in KC Star. It was a huge success right off the bat and we were rolling. IMO those first months we ended up with a lot of really great posters and only a couple bad ones. As time went on CP has attracted more and more people who love not having restrictions and unlimited subjects to discuss which was great other than the fact that that many thought those threads were polluting the forum with people arguing all the time over subjects that didn’t even involve football. I posted a poll asking the membership if they wanted another forum for off topics and it passed by a landslide and the people who run this BB were gracious enough to create it and DC was born.

That has worked for a long time now with this almost no holds barred format. Once again this type of forum has been attractive to people who love the open debate that can take place here but unfortunately over many years it has attracted more and more trolls who like using the structure here to do nothing more than try to get under posters skin and will do anything in order to do that. It’s also allowed posters like frazod to thrive here being the poster child of bad psychology. Talk about no boundaries with a strong desire to bust in others and dump. This has attracted more in the like, can anyone say KCN? The trolls have grown as well in this forum in a kind of perfect storm way. What we have today is a forum saturated with trolls and posters with the psychology of a 13 year old psychopathic girl on her first period. IMO this is costing us many potential good posters who would make this a better place to come to and has also seen us lose many quality long term posters. To complicate matters the moderators that reside here are fine with posters posting anything they want about you and your family members short of a racist remark heaven forbid just as long as you don’t do it to them which is now creating two different cultures that exist within the planet. If they think that it is hostile now they haven’t seen anything yet should this persist.

IMO at this point nothing short of a cleansing designed to rid the planet of trolls and bloody vaginas that have no control is exactly what this place needs to regain its former greatness. There was a time when I posted a thread about a family member and their battle with cancer and asked for prayers and support. Today there is no chance of me doing something like that here as I have no desire to see somebody post the nastiest thing they can think of at that point. For the old timers it should be easy to see the huge difference in where we were and where we are now. My 2 cents.

I think it would have went worse for him here. The truth is I would have been fine if we had drafted Sanchex but once we traded for Cassel it wasn't an option anymore so instead of acting like sniveling brat I moved on. And I'm not saying you acted that way. I don't believe you did but many others did.

Lawyer A: Ladies and Gentlemen of the jury, I think my client is innocent.

Lawyer B: Ladies and Gentelmen of the jury, I think my client is innocent, and here's the evidence to back up that claim.

You were here then - you know damn good and well that there were a metric ****ton of "Lawyer A's" running around in 2009/2010.

And then they all had the nerve to act as if they were right all along when the shit started hitting the fan a few years later. Priceless.
Whoa....wasn't meaning to bash what you originally stated, I believe that an "I think" should come with a reasonable thought process, not just pulled out your butt.

I just needed to say that "I think" is OK....

At this point I wouldn't be in support of any new rules or more restrictive moderation.

It's in the terms of service. It's there. There's no need for new rules.

Our moms and dads allow us to go out in the park alone and play. Once we aren't able to get along by ourselves any longer that time is over.

Don't ruin the fun for everyone...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

Those concerns were met with resistance, but have turned out to be well founded.

I don't think Houston returning guarantees the defense returning to form - mainly because it really wasn't playing that great before he was injured.

I saw some speculation yesterday that made me shake my head:

"If Houston didn't get hurt, we'd be 13-1 right now."

To which I responded, "On the flip side of that, if we hadn't faced a run of 4th string QB's, we would have been 6-3 leading into the bye."

Anywho...to your point...

I think any rational fan realized that the D would only carry us so far. I think the offense has a much better chance of sustaining their play than the defense of raising theirs - and that is based solely on our upcoming opponents, and the strengths of each team.
This will sound strange, but I don't care about the next two weeks. Maybe I've written off the division when I shouldn't, but I don't think there's any chance Denver loses. So for me that ship has sailed. If KC wanted home field, they should've found a way to beat SD or Denver at home.

So in that light, I don't give a shit about the defensive performance against either Indy or Eggo. What I'm focusing on is what kind of performance we can get in the dome in January.

I think we have a tendency to get caught up in extremes. Like the only options we have are the defense weeks 1-9 or the defense after that. There's a lot of ground in the middle, and I think they win in any number of scenarios without having a dominant 12-or-less point performance.

I also think it's as (or more) likely that they get a defensive or return score than they don't. I don't think you should underestimate their ability to either force turnovers (add to that that luck has 6 picks in the last 6 weeks, against 8 TDs) or the way that the return game has performed the last several weeks (even if they don't score, field position...).

Indy's also had 3 pretty bad losses in that same 6 week timeframe, and one of them was on their home field. Although I know you also already think it's one of the more, if not the most, favorable matchups the Chiefs can have.

I think it would be great, personally, just because Indy's been their road block so many times.

I have been for drafting a QB for a very long time Phil. As it turns out, I would have been wrong most of the time, if things would have turned out the same way with the Chiefs as with the team that drafted that pick. Sanchez for example.

I just wanted to see them try. I didn't become a negative jackass until Alex Smith was the first move for this regime. I hope like hell I turn out to be wrong again, as the last four games has to give us all some hope for that.

No.

I guess I could have elaborated more. I don't support new rules, new forums to restrict the main forum, or wildly waving the ban hammer.

I didn't really respond to the rest because I agreed with it...

We'll have to agree to disagree. I don't think he ever had any particular "strength" at the pro level. The real issue with Sanchez is that he came out too early. Another year at USC might have helped him become a productive pro prospect. As it stands, I don't think he would have succeeded anywhere.

All good points OTW. I am curious what you think of Milkman's and probably some other users opinion that the Front 7 is fatigued because of all the snaps they play?

I'll use my analogy again....when we all first got here, we didn't tolerate shitty behavior, like "pissing on the pool table". Instead of everyone saying "we have to tolerate this bad behavior" because it's free speech or someone egged the ingrate along by lauging and saying he's just yanking your chain, (or he didn't mean anything behind it) or some other enabling excuse.

We have to stop acting like it's ok to have REALLY RUDE behavior because they will grow out of it, or that's just the way the new generation is. Screw bad behavior, vitriolic attacks and just plain shitty personalities...if you can't have a decent civilized discussion then GTFO.
