I didn't watch last night, but it sounds like Rod Odom destroyed Mizzou again. Awesome.
Haith needs to embrace the idea of going small, limiting minutes for Rosburg and Post, and turning the tempo up. They've done some of that, but it's pretty clear this team does not have front court play worthy of playing a true 4 and 5 together. Especially if Tony Criswell is never getting out of the doghouse. He's the only guy they can play at the 4 and get any offensive threat out of, but he's just not getting the time. I'd much rather see Shane Rector getting 15 minutes a game spelling the guys in the backcourt than see Rosburg play 22 and Post play 8. Play Ross at the 4. Go back to the stretch and spread offense they ran Haith's first year. Start Clark/Clarkson/Brown/Ross/Williams. Rotate Rosburg and Torren Jones in for help at the 5, especially against teams that have a physically imposing 5 (Florida, LSU, Kentucky). Spend 10-12 minutes a game with some combination of Rosburg, Williams, Jones, and Criswell on the floor together. Try to limit the times Wes Clark and Shane Rector are both on the floor. This would create a lot more space and make it more difficult for teams to bog down and close off driving lanes. And in the background... if they miss the tournament this year, Haith is on the hot seat entering next year and probably doesn't survive if they miss it again. The new coach could find a fairly well-stocked cupboard in that situation, if he can keep all the 2014-15 sophomore and freshman classes here.

Haith is an excellent recruiter and a poor coach. This isn't a tournament team. I've said it all year. It's the worst squad I've seen in a long time. That said, if he gives up the Post/Rosburg/Criswell experiment and plays the freshmen more, we might be improved next year. I still say that we are going to suck until the 2015-16 season. I would give Haith through that year.

You'd like to see the transfers play less and less of a role on the team as time goes on and the program hopefully stabilizes. It's hard to imagine them being worse in the frontcourt next year. Williams and Jones both are promising and should improve. Jakeenan Gant is very similar to Williams in that he's an athletic, active 6-8/6-9, thin guy, and they're similarly rated. Best case scenario: Jones and Williams take a step forward and earn starters minutes, Gant gives them what Williams has been able to give this year, but in a reserve role, Rosburg is limited to 8-10 minutes a game as a foul-giving body, and Post never sees the floor.

It's not Mike Anderson's fault that Haith can't coach worth a shit. Is that the excuse we're going to hear his entire tenure? Haith is not Pinkel there's no jumping the gun on this one, he's terrible and that's all there is to it.

No way we should be losing to the likes of Georgia and Vandy. Inexcusable.

It's more of not having high expectations, I guess. I was hopeful about this season, but I thought they'd get a lot more out of Criswell than they have and need to rely on Rosburg a lot, lot less. It's concerning that Haith has gotten less than the sum of the team's parts out of it last year and so far this year, though. I think if they miss the NCAAT, he's on the hot seat entering next season and out if his squad misses the NCAAT again. He either needs to get better at coaching and developing his guys or start bringing in even more talent, though. He's probably going to sign back-to-back top 25 classes, which is the best back-to-back recruiting at Missouri in quite some time, and has brought in a lot of talented players from elsewhere (Cam Biedschied being the latest and being someone who should have been here from the start). Not happy with Haith... but not ALL that surprised by struggling some this year.

Haith inherited a Dumpster fire thanks to Suitcase. The recruiting has certainly improved. Unfortunately, all he's ever been is a bag man. There is no excuse why this team has struggled so mightily with a zone defense for two years. Even with supposedly superior PG play from Pressey (he says in jest) we could never get the ball to the elbow to break the defense down.
This team misses Alex Oriakhi an unimaginable amount. I loved that bastard. Post is a ****ing rat bum. I thought he could bring a level of contribution similar to RatCLIFF's (less skilled scorer, better rebounder and defender), but he's just terrible. Ultimately, none of this really matters, because we have Trooper Taylor trying to design the X's and O's for this team and he hasn't a clue.
