Comedian Bernie Mac died at Northwestern Memorial hospital. Bernie Mac passed away early Saturday morning, according to Sun-Times Columnist, Stella Foster. He was 50 years young.

While the cause of death has not been confirmed, Mac had been hospitalized recently for a bout with pneumonia, one he seems to have unfortunately lost.
Foster indicated to the Associated Press that she had gotten calls early Saturday morning from a close [COLOR=#0000ff! important][COLOR=#0000ff! important]friend[/COLOR][/COLOR] of the Mac family, confirming the reports of Mac's death.
On Friday (01Aug08), a spokeswoman for the actor, whose real name is, Bernard McCullough, stated that the actor had been responding well to treatment for the illness.
Mac's publicist Danica Smith said Thursday in a statement that his condition was ''stable.''
After [COLOR=#0000ff! important][COLOR=#0000ff! important]news[/COLOR][/COLOR] of his illness broke last Friday, Smith spent the weekend playing down reports Mac's health had rapidly deteriorated, with some rumours claiming he had died.
Speaking on Sunday (03Aug08), she insisted, "Bernie Mac is still alive and being treated in a Chicago hospital for pneumonia and is expected to make a full recovery. (He is) responding well to treatment and will be released soon."
There is no current word on whether public services will be held.

My Dad has sarcoidosis too. My Dad didn't find out he had it until he went to the doctor FOR pneumonia.
