It was an AMAZING game. A few shots came from it that I really liked. These first two are funny. They happened as an INT happened to basically seal the game. This kid went nuts and climbed this fence and jumped over it. I got him in mid air. Haha.

So what happens if he decides to go to college? He can't enter the draft for 3 years? Would this kill his stock even if he rips shit up at Nebraska?

A buddy of mine that I played football with in college was one of his football and baseball coaches at Gardner. I talked to him a few weeks ago and he thinks there is no chance he goes to Nebraska. He also thought he has a lot more potential as a baseball player than a football player. I never saw the guy play so I have no idea. I also don't know if money is a big deal for him but he can make a LOT more money and have a longer career in baseball. I can't imagine being in that situation at that age........damn that would be sweet.

This could also make sense why they are recruiting 2 Qb's in next class despite such a small amount of schollies. |

The current group of decision-makers had NOTHING to do with the draft the year Tulowitzki was taken. Dayton Moore was still in Atlanta. J.J. Piccolo and Mike Arbuckle were elsewhere, too. The Tulowitzki draft, the Royals took the guy (Alex Gordon) that EVERYONE thought was the consensus No. 2 player. They would have roundly criticized for being "cheap" had they gone any other route. The Lincecum draft, they were one of nine teams that passed on Lincecum. And the draft still was being run by the pre-Dayton Moore group. Dayton Moore had been named the GM but was not involved in the Royals draft because he had run the Braves' draft prep. And the year they passed on Buster Posey, they draft Eric Freaking Hosmer instead. I think I can live with that.

As for Bubba Starling... he's going to look great in the Royals system.
It's a matter of upside and career potential for him. His skills project nicely as an outstanding spread-option QB at Nebraska, but his NFL potential would be limited to WR. As a baseball player, however, his upside is Matt Kemp/Mike Trout. A strong defensive CF with 30/30 potential. If he chooses football, he still can play baseball later, but it might dampen his upside view a little (especially playing in the craptastic Big 10 baseball conference).
