I don't think it's that as much as it is that it's based solely on customer service. They have to handle all kinds of different personalities face-to-face. It's not the exercise, it's the dealing with dipshits while keeping a smile on their face.

Well, lots of people do that for a lot less money.

I've never met a postal employee with a smile on their face.

Welcome to ANY government job. I deal with dipshits on a daily basis....and that's not even counting this website.

I honestly think some people are jealous of the Postal Worker.
They do their job and do it efficiently, unlike almost every other government department. |

My dad does have it easy as far as routes go though. He delivers to several of the medical buildings/clinics/hospitals. And the residential portion is driven. He's paid his dues though. Ice storms and bad winters, dog bites, etc. He's got it made now though.

If you don't appreciate your mail service, maybe you could call and have all of our mail canceled, and request that everyone send you items via parcel service? I wonder if their employees are tested and put through several different background tests? Bowser?

90% of the shit I get is junk. If I could....I'd pay my mail carrier to just throw the shit away before it even hits my mailbox.

That's actually a good idea. I'd tip my mailman if he would do that. Perhaps an intelligent mailbox system, which would only notify me to go outside to get my mail when I have legitimate mail.

Most people don't know this, but over 70 percent of postal carriers now are robots.
