You Just Won The Lottery - Now What?

So I'm channel surfing and I see this program "The Lottery Changed My Life".

No shit Sherlock.

I play the lottery every week. Not expecting much but what the hell.

So you wake up Sunday morning, check your numbers and what do you know you actually won the ****ing lottery.

Do you cash it in right away?
Quit your job right away?
Tell ANYONE?
Talk to a lawyer?
Talk to a financial adviser?
Get drunk?
Go to Vegas?
Hire some primo escorts?
Buy a Ferrari or other supercar?
Live like a king or stash it away and stay right where you are?

Me personally, I would talk to a lawyer and financial adviser about setting up something to protect me and my money before I cash it in.

Then pay off my house, all my bills and my immediate family too. You're bound to hear from relatives and friends you didn't know you had.

Then I'm not really sure.

Maybe go on a trip around the world to think about things.

I've seen too many horror stories about people winning it all and they're life is miserable.

depends on how much the lottery was for

lets just say it was 200 million

don't tell anymore but immediate family members
probably have a family member split the winning ticket with me
consult a lawyer/CPA/Financial adviser
build my own 'extreme' house that is capable of being completely off grid with a lot of specialty stuff thrown in ... a little doomsday prepper features included
maid service/lawn service etc
no work but would find some kind of philanthropic job to do

Enough money where you never have to work again.

Unless you want to.

Powerball type money.

You could you learn about things that interest you too instead of what earns a good living.

I would set up some type of foundation to help others and for a good tax write off.

You can't take it with you so you might as well do some good with it.

Hell, I would give them 10% to keep their mouths shut. Nobody would know I won a penny.
If they insisted on releasing my name the first thing I do is move to another state where no one knows me and then hire an extremely reputable financial advisor.
