Dorsey Says Chiefs Will Pick Best Player Available - Not Necessarily A Quarterback???

Sorry if this was posted already but I didn't see it.

Your new GM says that the Chiefs will pick the best player available, but it might not be a QB WTF?

Odds of winning without a quality QB go way down.

Which is, ironically, impossible without an elite QB.

If they're going to take the same attitude the Chiefs have in the last 30 years I'm not going to go ballistic. I'm just going to go. Why should I support a team that doesn't even have a clue how to win? I'm getting to know what its like to be a Cubs fan and I don't like it. I'm not going down that road. It would be one thing if they just hit a hard stretch. 40 years is a growing trend. They're still trying to hit on the next Len Dawson.

Just for Boss.

Andy Reid said yesterday that his IDEAL is to have a guy here that he can mold from day 1.

He gave all the other standard coach speak - you don't reach, you take BPA, etc.

But first and foremost what he wants in a QB is somebody he can mold into his system.

from what i understand, Dorsey is a hardcore BPA guy.

I assume that he also puts added weight to certain positions but i haven't heard it yet.

Gotta figure that position goes into the equation.

What the hell are you expecting him to say? We haven't even had the combine yet. "yeah, we're drafting a QB, probably Geno, but we'll see".

We'll pretty much know who we are getting a couple days before the draft, since the #1 pick always agrees to a contract pre-draft these days

I don't see any reason Geno isn't the BPA now. He's a game changer. There are only a few of them in every draft. When I look at what these other players can do, guys like "Star" etc, I see the same kind of thing -- an instant impact player. But, as pointed out over & over on this board and by experts as well is that an impact QB will help your W's more than any other player in today's pass driven NFL.

Matty C is just horrible. It stumps me as to how we all got through that diarrhea stink for 3 plus seasons with only one player getting killed. JFC they are lucky 10 players didn't go postal. And the fans -- at least no reports of fans killing each other that I know of.

Rest In Hell captain missedabarn.

Geno. He's got tools. He can thread the needle from 45 yards away. He doesn't melt when things go wrong. He doesn't go full reerun. Has a bit of a temper, but seems coachable. I like a QB with some fire. He doesn't say stupid shit when things suck for him. That is our guy come april.

Boom.

We got our QB.

The rest is just bullshit. Dorsey's definition of BPA is just the Packer version of the right 53. It's flexible and loose in special circumstances, such as when you're starting off a 2-14 team that has ZERO QBs on the roster.
