More lame Donks: Tebow down, but not out

Rookie QB Tim Tebow(notes) might not play Saturday in the Denver Broncos’ exhibition against the Detroit Lions because of an undisclosed injury. It appears Tebow might have sore ribs or abdominal discomfort.

Tebow came out for Wednesday’s single workout and after going through a walk-through, he consulted with the Broncos’ trainers, jogged off the field and didn’t return.

Tebow, a heralded quarterback from Florida, took several hits during Sunday’s exhibition at Cincinnati. Among those was a violent goal-line collision while diving for a touchdown on Sunday’s final play.

Tebow was wearing extra padding to protect his ribs.

Her participated in Tuesday’s practices but eschewed wind sprints with teammates for work in the weight room. On Wednesday, he took part in the day’s single activity, a walk-through, but then talked with trainers before jogging off the field.

The team made no immediate announcement regarding Tebow’s condition.
