Did you ask him why they stopped playing Rock and Roll after High and Dry?
They have not had a good album out since. |

Isn't that the case w/ that whole genre? If you can't somewhat adapt to style change, you're screwed. Best be able to appeal to a few different audiences too, or you'll end up the musical artists' equivalent to Matt Cassel trying to QB an NFL team.

Did you ask him how he intends to pay back for his crimes against humanity by agreeing to do this?

Thats a pretty snappy deal, Carlota. Joe Elliott was decent in the Highn'dry era. Very ambitious dude. Wanted to shit can everyone but Sav after Pyromania. Almost got his wish though not the way he intended.

I had friends that went to the opening show at the Joint that were absolutely blown away. Not only did the band sound great but they looked great, too. Phil Collen is 55 years old and ripped from head to toe. These guys aren't amateurs.
Def Leppard has a long history. They were a rock band from the beginning. Their second record, which was produced by Mutt Lange, showcased their future. They fired Pete Willis after writing most of Pyromania because he was an alcoholic, which is ironic because he's still alive and Steve Clark, the other alcoholic guitarist in DL, is dead. When they went into the studio for Hysteria, they wanted to create something epic. That record took more than 3 years to record, more than 100 vocal tracks in many songs, and is viewed by people inside the music industry as a masterpiece. The record company spent more than $5 million dollars to record that album and were rewarded with riches nearly 30 fold. In full disclosure, I didn't like Pyromania or Hysteria at the time of their respective releases. I thought they were too electronic sounding and too phony. Now, I view them as master works of the era. Congrats, Carlotta, for an entertaining interview! |
