I have a Whirlpool Gold and love it.
Its the only appliance that doesn't match in the kitchen but since it has a blank stainless front nobody knows. Liked it because it was hundreds of dollars cheaper than the comparable GM that matches the rest of our appliances. I've had a number of different brands and have always thought the Whirlpool cleans and drys the best. |

I have a Kenmore that I bought in 2006. It was highly rated by Consumer Reports back then. It's been a great washer. There is one caveat. To meet energy ratings they wash at a lower temperature with less water than years past. If I have a full dishwasher with lots of crud I'll run the pots and pans cycle with hi-temp setting.
Dishwashing detergent makes a huge difference, too. I bought a store brand and it didn't clean worth a shit. I switched back to Finish All-in-One tabs and things were normal again. |

I own an Appliance repair company and I have an LG dishwasher. Before that I had Bosch. Both are really good. One thing to look for is a model with the heater built into the pump. Don't buy one with an exposed heater way less efficient at heating the water and will melt plastic dishes. When the heater is in the recirculation system it heats the water quicker and you can load plastics on the lower rack. Go with stainless steel they retain heat better and dry more thoroughly.

Yup. And don't leave the clothes in the washer for too long or they start smelling.

I'm impressed. Only 16 percent of posts so far are sexist and only 5 percent are racist. That's incredible progress in only 12 years.
