Excellent choice. I imagine it's not more popular because people don't go to the trouble of getting it properly crispy.
Perhaps the one dish I properly enjoy WITH ketchup. Another, great northern beans. Slow cooked with bacon and onion, sprinkle tabasco on a bowl right before consuming with corn bread muffins made with sour cream instead of milk or water.
