I think it's pretty difficult for Chiefs fans to vote against Derrick Thomas.

I mean, in the 80s and 90s, passing wasn't as important as it is now. Think about the Chiefs defenses of those days. They wouldn't have been nearly as dominant without DT. After all he did for this franchise, it seems like betrayal to go back and say, "No, we didn't want you. We should have picked someone else."

Aikman, Okoyo, Stephan Paige, Barry Word, the Chiefs would have been more than Ok....of course, Aikman really didnt get good until his 3rd year in after Norvs tutelage.

Um, you're missing the part where that team isn't loaded with nearly as many hall of famers as the Cowboys team of the time. That, is why I believe Aikman is even an option in this poll. He didn't put the team on his back, and he certainly didn't go out there and win game after game after game for the cowboys. That defense, that running game, those were the reasons why they went into the playoffs year after year.

More importantly, Nate Newton, Larry Allen, Erik Williams, Mark Stepnowski, Steve Wisniewski and also Alvin Harper.

When the team began to age and decline, Aikman couldn't put them on his back and win. He wasn't in the same category as Steve Young, Joe Montana, John Elway, etc. |

Gotta agree with Dane here, Aikman was surrounded by all world talent and coaching in Dallas.
Doubt it works out here. |

Yep. pretty much. I will say he was absolutely nails in the playoffs and when they needed a clutch throw, he came through.

I'm not arguing that we had equivalent talent in KC around the QB, I'm saying we haven't had an Aikman. |
