Good posts on Wake and Syracuse...
My Iowa Hawks pulled off another upset tonight. An 82-80 win over #13 Texas. That's two top 15 teams they knocked off two nights in a row. Tomorrow will be the final test against a solid North Carolina squad that is loaded. I think the Hawks might lose this one, but without a doubt, they will battle extremely hard till the end. UNC better bring their A game. |

Unfortunately, I think this is just another year of the Hawks getting my hopes up so they can stomp on them in conference play. Alford has done nothing but put out under-achieving teams since he's been here, with the trademark mid-season slump. I'm going to need to see different to believe he'll do otherwise any time soon.

I agree that PP needs to be realed in a bit. But DAMN, that 25 footer to win it last night was nice. It's a good thing Jeff Horner is playing like an All American so far. While there's no denying that Alford has had teams woefully underachieve, the job he did last year with basically a 7 man team gave me hope he's learned from his mistakes. Having Craig Neal around doesn't seem to hurt either. But like most Iowa fans, if they don't make the NCAA's, then Stevie Wonder should be shown the door. |

Pierre had a bad game last night. He forced a lot of shots he shouldn't have. Funny thing is this....
Pierce had 18 points, 7 assists, 7 rebounds, 4 steals and held his opposing player to relatively nothing. And he essentially hit the game winner. He didn't play well at all last night, but man can he fill up the stat sheet. He'll learn that he doesn't have to do so much this season as he did last. |
