That reminds me of a short documentary I was watching on Peter O'Toole one night. He was talking about Lawrence, specifically when Lawrence first gets on the traditional Arabic robes. Lean's shooting and he tells him to do something other than look at his shadow. So, the ever thoughtful O'Toole remembers that one of his props is a shiny dagger, and he takes it out and looks at his reflection. Behind the camera, Lean says "Clever, boy. Very clever."

Unfortunately, I can't quite say the same for you, but keep trying...

Well, the toilet bit was good, and the part where your voice starts cracking up was funny. But I would highly reccomend making a script and sticking to it. I would not venture off of the reservation too far (don't do a lot of ad libbing). As time goes on you'll have a better feel for doing that sort of thing, but stick to the script early on. The paramiters that gives you will help a lot.

That's my bit of constructive criticism anyway.

Improv is good. If you know how to do it.

Oh I agree, I love and respect quality improv. And I am not saying he should not do that. I am merely saying don't do a lot of it in the beggining, and make sure you have your paramiters (script) in place when you do. With out that script you will quite possibly wander off into who knows what straying so far from the story that the audience is left scratching their heads.

And that is really a possibility if you are doing the whole thing improv.

If you improv, you should do what Larry David does with Curb Your Enthusiasm or what Christopher Guest does with his movies. Make an outline and follow that. Have a plot. But you can then ad-lib the dialogue while staying within the plot and not getting anybody confused.

This is funny though. You see me and my sister(russes daughter) sat in front of the computer. I was going to have people moving and have hands but than i was like wait... I just bitmapped the peoples faces and did voices i was also originally not going to do voices either. I dont deserve all the credit my sister had ideas about .315 of the movie whilst i did the rest. And that is why her name is in the credits. For those who didn't get to see it today watch it tomorrow.

Improv was always a fun thing in speech class. I always had everyone dying from laughter.

Of course, I found out a couple years after it was because someone had drawn black nipples on my back.

Ahhh... I remeber my first pair of black nipples. Good times. They were called tim and john after the bible heros of course.
