What was the name of your hometown newspaper?
In my little town, the Harold-Patriot came out on Tuesday and the Leader came out on Thursday, both published at the same company.

I figure the Harold-Patriot was a merger before my time, and the Leader a later aquisition - so that was three papers for a little town of 5000.

It used to be 2 different papers,the Springfield Daily News and the Springfield Leader and Press, they merged about a million years ago. My God I'm an old fart

The Hallsville Top (weekly paper)

My first professional writing credits were with this paper (started out as a sports reporter, wound up being sports editor before I left for college). Used to help the publisher/editor set type on the old linotype machine he printed the paper on.

I learned a hell of a lot more about the newspaper business working for Don than I did from any of my college professors.
