King Carl not pleased with Tynes

Did anyone else get the feeling from what Carl Peterson said in the booth that Tynes is all but history?

The announcers were going over Tynes' misses, his bad kickoffs, and the incident in River Falls and from what I heard with Carl's reply, it sounds like Tynes is gone.

Something like this

"Yeah, we've been looking for about two weeks now. I thought he was going to be the guy for us, but he's just doing too many things wrong, and not getting it done."

It sounds like Carl's mind was all but made up judging by that response.

Problem is, who can the Chiefs pursue at the K position that would be any better? I dont know of any available kickers that are worth a damn.

I thought Tynes was just in a slump and would shake it off. But man, when youre missing field goals under 40 yards, thats pretty damn bad. Anything under 40 yards should be money for an NFL kicker.

The Cardinals kicker (No1, I think) made a 65 yarder during warmups before the game...

That is truly a leg.

Were his kickoffs that long, cuz it would be kinda cool to watch someone kick it into the endzone from 6 fields away.

Damon Huard will be out of a job soon. Maybe he can kick, because he certainly can't throw.

Feely is actually with the NY Giants. I wouldn't mind going with a vet like Steve Christie.

``He's in the tank,'' Chiefs coach Dick Vermeil said of Tynes. ``You miss two field goals like that -- not in the National Football League. He has thrown the red flag up the entire training camp in regard to being an accurate kicker on our practice field. So we have a real concern.''
That should really inspire some confidence in ol' Larry Tynes.

This should be easy for the Chiefs. You pick up a vet (Christy?) that can kick all day every day from 40 yards in and you keep Tynes for the kickoffs/longer ones unless Colquit can kick off well enough. How many seasons have gone in the tank because of either a missed field goal or crappy kickoffs? If you need to carry two kickers to get that handled then damnit, you do it.
