anyone pick one up at midnight? Im personally not a big gamer, but was over at a friends house... and him and his roommate each preordered an Xbox360 back in May. Put them both on Ebay 5 days ago.

Auctions just ended, $1479 + $50 shipping and $1295.50 + $50 shipping

Each cost $400 with tax.

Damn, I should have preordered 10.

Kind of a follow-up tangent (figure that out), but I'd liken the XBox controllers to UCF in 2004 and 2005. The Duke was a miserable monstrosity of a controller (0-11). The Controller S was an amazing turnaround that managed to take the crown (8-3, hosting the C-USA championship game).

I love the big controller. It fits my hands perfectly. I hate the S controller. They put the black and white buttons in the worst place. the back button isn't easy to hit either.

There have been rumors for a month or more that the Xbox 360 was going to have shortages.
In fact, as early as two weeks ago if you hadn't preordered then you weren't going to get one at launch.
Right now the only way you're going to get an Xbox is if you have a preorder already, or you pay $1400 for one on Ebay. And it's going to be like that for a couple of weeks at least.

I actually had the money saved up but when I went to preorder I couldn't decide on a game I wanted for the 360. So instead I bought another Ps2 (my 1st and 2nd ones broke) + guitar hero and then a couple weeks later I picked up Dragon Quest VIII (awesome!).

I figure I'll get a 360 right after Christmas time.

Another thing, you console wars fanboys should shut the hell up. Talk about a useless thing to argue about, jesus. I have all of the consoles and I just care about the games I play. If you didn't have a PS2 you missed out on FFX (among others) so YOU LOSE, if you didn't have an Xbox you missed out on Halo (among others) so YOU LOSE. So guess what, all you fanboys are losers. I do admit thought that if a game is on multiple platforms I always get the Xbox version, so I guess if I had to say one system was "best" I'd pick Xbox. That said the past few weeks has seen me playing nothing but DQ8 and Guitar Hero on my Ps2.

I was at the Best Buy on Metcalf over lunch to get my copy of R30 (Rush 30th Anniversary tour - I'm geek, I know). I talked with a couple of employees and they said that they had a ton of people camped out there overnight (some chairs were still out front). They said that they sold out right away and almost had a big fight in the store. Three of the people who camped out got nothing.
