1) Darren Howard or John Abraham (DEs). 2) Cletidus Hunt (DT). 3) Wendell Bryant (DT) (at the league minimum to see if he play up to his potential in camp). 4) Joey Harrington. 5) Chester Taylor to backup LJ if Priest retires. 5) Draft OT in first round. 6) Draft CB in 2nd round. |

IMO, until we get EVERYONE on the same page, that includes position coaches and the players playing on plays that compliment their talents, we're going to suck anyway. I still refuse to believe that Kendrell Bell is a total bust for us. I saw what he did in Pittsburgh. I can't believe that he's not doing it here for us. There's got to be some other reason for this other than he was never very good to begin with. Sammy Knight and Patrick Surtain can be much better players with a better scheme. What if we had a competant defensive line? I'm not a GM nor a coach, nor do I act like I am. I'm just... ahh.. **** it. I'll just jump on the love/hate bandwagons that formulate on Chiefsplanet next season and act like I know what I'm talking about. |

need a major upgrade at LDE(Hicks) Dalton has been alright in the middle ... but nobody else has shown much. i still think Browning needs to be used more at DE is it just coincedence that our defense took a dump when Sims came back?? we need to upgrade at FS imo too ... i know Wesley has 5 ints, but i honestly don't remember him breaking up a single pass. And he misses way too many tackles imo. maybe move Eric warfield to free safety and get another cornerback? that would prolly improve are coverage unit quite a bit and maybe allow our linebackers to play forward instead back. I saw linebackers covering wide receivers waaaaaaaaay too much this year. new coaches will probably help a ton

As bad as our cap situation looks, its going to take forever to get back to where we should have been this year. We need a bad ass safety along the lines of a Sean Taylor/Ed Reed/Roy Williams type. Wesley has good hands, but is often out of position against the run and has forgotten how to hit. Gunther seems to think that Knight is the second coming of Ronnie Lott and puts him on guys like Shockey & Gates. |

Darnell Bing, S, Southern Cal: Bing has drawn comparisons to Southern Cal alum and NFL Hall of Famer Ronnie Lott. Bing shows outstanding playmaking ability in pass coverage and is a willing and aggressive run defender who hits hard. Bing can play strong safety or free safety in the NFL and should start immediately if he grasps the playbook. If he enters the '06 daft, he could be the first safety selected.

LaRon Landry, S, LSU: Landry is a hard-hitting safety who is better in coverage than most cornerbacks and can play the run better than most linebackers. Landry (6-2, 204) is big and totaled 65 total tackles, one sack, three interceptions and eight passes broken up for LSU this season. He is similar to the Cowboys' Roy Williams but with better ball skills. If Landry enters the '06 draft, he will be a late-Round 1 or early-Round 2 pick.

Depending on how the 1st round plays out for offensive tackles, I think we should look DT/DE/S in the draft...
Those 4 are the positions of need and the only reason I put OT before the others is because of the age of the players currently manning those positions. |
