Lame Scoring Celebrations at Arrowhead = we lose a bit of our luster...

Wow. So, they tried the POD Boom, and they really tried the Red song by Sammy Haggar, and they both REALLY sucked.

We scored, cheered minimally... then nothing. It was so weak. I know that the figureheads have to be upset and trying to find a viable solution to get the crowd pumped... because the Post Scoring celebrations were so weak... it wasnt even the slightest bit exciting.

Major thumbs down.

They weren't booing, they were chanting boom.

The east-end board is awful.

That will probably be part of it. I know the Royals are talking about turning the big crown scoreboard into a giant HD video board, which would be awesome. I'm sure the Chiefs could do the same thing with the scoreboards at each end, plus put those nice color ribbon boards around the facade.

I support the elimination of the song for many reasons:

#1. The way I understand royalties.. Gary Glitter gets paid every time it is played in public. And if you compare what he did to Ozzy or Keith Richards, then you don't have kids. There is no comparison to his crime.

#2. They play the song after we score. Then they go to a TV timeout. Then, the kick-off, which for some reason we yell when kicking and receiving. If there was an advantage we would only yell during one. Then, another TV timeout before the D comes on the field. KC is smart enough to yell when we're on D and it does nothing for homefield advantage.

#3. It really isn't a song because there is no singing. They are replacing it with songs that do. Why? Can't they make up a rythm and chant that is customized for the Chiefs? I listened to KY and the Fox growing up and never heard that song until I was at a Chiefs game.

I say dump the song...let's not support child molesters. If they can't make up a chant then bring Warpaint back! Dump the dumb KC Wolf while their at it.

The post-TD celebrations were lame. You couldn't even tell what sound was being played.

We couldn't hear the announcers. The sound was pathetic last night.

They have got to get this post TD thing figured out.

I saw a news report that said he was charged for this same thing and paid the the family off to drop their case for $1k prior to this conviction.

I would imagine that if he has money flowing in from royalties it is going to be spent to get himself out of jail. Why do we want to support that?

Plus, the music is old. They should come up with a new tradition. It doesn't have to be a Top 40 hit.

Who cares? It's part of the Arrowhead tradition. It's NOT Arrowhead with another song, I don't care what anyone says.

I know OF Sammy Haggar, but I couldn't name one song that he (or is it they?) did.

Music, IMO, has, for the mostpart, sucked since the 60's.

But that's just me.

I for one thought it was the perfect solution: the Tony DiPardo Band to play R&R Part 2. If my logic is right, the child-toucher gets no money because it's essentially a "cover" being played live. But we fans get to keep our traditional chant.

It got messed up yesterday because no one knew it was coming, and the music wasn't quite as loud. By the second chorus most of my section had caught on. If we had scored another touchdown, I think the chant would have been as impressive as normal.

I sit lower level under the overhang, and couldn't hear shit. The speakers were out, or not turned on.

And just play Sammy Hagar's "Mas Tequilla". It has the same beat as R&R pt. 2.
