Brett Favre is a douchebag.......

"I was optimistic going into this game, I really was," Favre said. "Maybe I was the only one, but I really felt like we could surprise these guys. Obviously, that was not the case."

Seriously though, could he be a bigger douchebag?

I have no idea why the media loves this guy so much. He threw Javon Walker under the bus last off season, saying he was basically dumb and hurting the team by holding out. He blew that playoff game 3 years ago agaisnt the Eagles, but oh that was just Bret trying to win?? He holds the Packers hostage this offseason, doing phoney press confrences where all he does is say what he thinks the front office should do, also add to his on again off again "will he retire"talk.

If this was TO, Chad Johnson, Steve Smith, ect ect acting in this way, he would be such a deamon to the media. But somehow because it is Brett Favre, it is just Bret being competitive, and Brett's love for the game. Gimme a break, it has always been about Brett's love for Brett.

No. You're probably stupid for other reasons. My guess is genes, fumes, paint chips, too many drops, or maybe just a lousy school district.

This thread is just a manifestation of your stupidity.

He said he was the only guy on his team that gave a shit that they won or lost........

Interestingly I was browsing around on another board where this was brought up how about this gem........

Well, he walked off the field without shaking anyone's hand. So the answer to your question would be yes.

Yeah. . .10 seconds early, no less.

Randy Moss walks off the field with 2 seconds left in a game his team can't win, and everyone wants to burn him at the stake. Favre does it, and it's because he's "just so darn competitive," or something equally stupid.

Well, Favre's white. Duh.

If he was black, he'd be more demonized than TO and Randy Moss combined.

I wonder if that is really the reason.............If so atleast that's an answer to what I was wondering which is more than I got here which was "hey you're stupid for questioning Favre".

On alot of other boards people do agree with it.......and for the record I'm white so it's not like I'm playing race and being black. I forgot I was posting this on a board where the majority of people are middle class white people in the midwest so I'm really not surprised by the reaction.

WTF are you reading? He says no such thing.

Quote:

He's saying "maybe I was the only one" who was optimistic, or "maybe I was the only one" who felt like they could surprise the Bears. And he's probably not talking about himself compared to his teammates as much as he's comparing himself to the media he was speaking with.

But regardless, where on earth do you get "I'm the only guy on the team who cared if we won or lost" from that?

You are completely and totally wrong.

1). Through sustained performance and a heads-down, team first work ethic Brett Favre has earned the right to comment on the current state of his team's motivation. It is the veteran Qb's role to motivate rookies.

2) Respect is earned, not demanded. Moss, T.O. et all have not earned the benefit of the doubt that would lead people to listen to them as leaders instead of disdaining them as selfish, me-first, punk ass whiners.
I love me some me. Straight cash homey.

3) The instant you play the race card is the instant you forfeit all credibility in a reasonable conversation.
