Anyone going to check this one out?

It looks pretty good. Id like to know the true story though.....ill have to read up on it.

Bob Dole remembers that The Big Bopper was onboard instead of Waylon Jennings because he was sick.

A couple of weeks ago one of the NPR Saturday shows ran a show on Waylon.

The way the story was reported on the show is that Waylon gave up his seat to the Big Bopper, because he was a bigger star and Waylon was low on the totem pole.

The only reason Waylon even had a seat on the plan was because Buddy was his mentor and was trying to promote Waylon.

The last words Waylon said to Buddy Was, I hope your plane crashes, in response Buddy said he hoped Waylon’s bus crashed.

This really haunted Waylon for a long time and is a pivotal reason why Waylon became the C&W star he is.

If your fans of Buddy Holly's music and want to see a movie about him, go rent the Buddy Holly Story. It was released about 1978 and Gary Busey played the part of Buddy and performed and sang the music himself. He did an incredible job, I remember he hosted Saturday Night Live when it was released and played live in the Buddy character on the show. This movie was his big break, way before he became known as a nut case, in fact I think he was nominated for best actor for the film.

I picked up the record of the soundtrack when the movie came out and still have it and play it at times. Buddy Holly never recorded a live album so the soundtrack is the closest you'll ever have to owning one. I eventually picked up the tape of the movie in the 80's when that became available.

Same thing happened with Stevie Ray Vaughn. SRV, his brother, and his brother's wife were supposed to be on the heli that crashed. Stevie asked for his seat when it ended up being only one seat available and his brother obliged.
