The Official I'M SICK OF SUMMER Thread

Here's a rant.

I wish heat and humidity were a person.

Someone that I could abduct, trap in my basement and slowly fucking torture to death. And I'm not talking a mild blowtorch and thumbscrews type of torture - I'm talking a Kevin Spacey from Seven type of torture - something that would take weeks or months, even years. Something that would be marveled over later.

Enough with this crap. On a day where it was vile and miserable anyway, right at 5:00, it pours fucking rain, but only for a few minutes; not long enough to affect the temperature, but just long enough to raise the humidity levels to about 10,000%. Thirsty? Just open your mouth and breathe, and hope you don't drown. So then I walk the mile to the train station in this soupy, miserable shit. Well, that's over, I think. WRONG. Now the fucking air conditioning goes out on the train right as we're leaving the goddamn station, for the second fucking day in a row. There's another sonofabitch I'd like to go Spacey on - the dick in charge of making sure the air conditioning works - probably some lazy rat bastard drinking a cup of coffee in a nice cool office somewhere. What a lovely 45 minute train ride to enjoy after I was already rolling fucking sweat.

If I could get a paying job in fucking Antarctica, I'd take it. I hate the midwest, I hate summer, I hate the heat and I REALLY hate the fucking humidity.

COME ON WINTER HURRY UP AND fuckING GET HERE

That is all.

Yeah I have to say I'm sick of summer as well. It's even worse when you have to work in the shit. My A/C unit is a POS, I can barely keep my house cool, in the winter I can crank up the woodstove and keep my house 90 friggin' degrees with no problem. No effing yard work to do in the winter either. **** YOU SUMMER, YOU SUCK!

I enjoy the winter here in Kansas City. People in Florida made me laugh though when it got down to 65 people were wearing winter coats and stocking caps.

Central Illinois has definitely been a doggy bastard this summer, but atleast the midwest gets its 4 seasons, the more i've lived in other climates...the more i like the midwest' seasons & i cant WAIT for fall.

Lightly warm days & crisp, breezy nights.

Perfect weather + football = What a great time of the year.

See Post 6. Sure, by the end of February/beginning of March I'll have had a gutfull of winter, just like everybody else. In frazod's perfect world, every day the high would be 70 and the low would be 50, but that ain't happening anytime soon. So if I'm stuck with an extreme, I'll take the cold. I'd seriously take 20 below over the shit I swam through today.

Too cold - dress for it
Too hot - suffer, bitch

i like the heat it seems like it gets me unhung over faster. Ususally i just wash up on some rock either in a lake or in my yard after a long night at the bars and i just bake in the sun and sweat the whiskey out. in the winter I can't freeze it out of me

I think I know where you are all coming from. It's Called Reverse Seasonal Affective Disorder-RSAD

Seasonal affective disorder, also known as S.A.D., winter depression or the winter blues is an affective, or mood, disorder. Most SAD sufferers experience normal mental health throughout most of the year, but experience depressive symptoms in the winter or summer. The condition in the summer is often referred to as Reverse Seasonal Affective Disorder.

SAD can be a serious disorder and may require hospitalization. There is also potential risk of suicide in some patients experiencing SAD. One study reports 6-35% of sufferers required hospitalization during one period of illness.[3] The symptoms of SAD mimic those of dysthymia or clinical depression. At times, patients may not feel depressed, but rather lack energy to perform everyday activities.[1] Norman Rosenthal, a pioneer in SAD research, has estimated that the prevalence of SAD in the adult United States population is between about 1.5 percent (in Florida) and about 9 percent (in the northern US).

What a damn shame.

Yeah, I guess I could have this stupid disorder.

Or perhaps I just hate the heat and humidity because I'm fat, Dr. Freud.

But in case I do have RSAD and decide to check myself out over it, I'll be sure and take you and Norman with me.
