Life How bizarre. I got good customer service on a flight. - Page 3

I generally expect to be treated horribly by anything involved with an airline, but I got a call this morning from Northwest Airlines. My flight got canceled, and they rebooked me on another flight and sent me an automated message. It actually is ending up as a better flight for me anyway.

THEN, I got a call from a real live person at Orbitz. They notified me that my flight was canceled, and asked if I needed any help getting a new flight. Unless they were going to charge me or something, I thought that was pretty cool.

And by the way, how do you get a call at 7:30 a.m. saying that your 1:05 flight is canceled due to weather, but you'll be getting on a 2:20 flight that's still on? I don't quite understand that.

I have found out that card and $10 will get me a cup of coffee in most airports.

Not regarding customer service, but...

I hate flying. Control freak I guess. I don't even like riding in a car with someone else driving.

My last flight was Amsterdam to Minneapolis, Minneapolis to KC. After the 8 hour flight from Amsterdam, we board the plane for KC. You can immediately smell fuel. The reason you can smell fuel is because it is pouring out of the right wing. They left us on the plane while they cleaned it up, then the pilot used every inch of the runway on take-off, I assume trying to remove any leftover fuel on the wing.

Awesome.

My standards for customer service must be below average. I've never really had anything negative to say about a flight I've been on. I had a flight out of Vegas get moved to another gate and leave an hour later than scheduled, but that's about it. Ticket counter people have been nice, and I don't require much from a flight attendant.
