Misc Tip Jars are out of Control - Page 3

Just got back from picking up my lunch at a Chinese restaurant drive thru. Pull up to order and what is taped to the drive thru window.... A MF'n TIP CUP!!!!!!!

It is a Freaking Drive Thru in a fast food restaurant and you want a tip???????? Good God these things have gone to far.

I will gladly tip if someone tip if someone goes above and beyond. I am sure guys at ace hardware don't make a zillion dollars. I had this dude show me where some shit was yesterday, answered my questions, then made me a new set of keys. Not one or two keys. All of my keys timely and politely. I know that I shouldn't be like HURRAY for someone doing their job, but I will be honest. There is just times where you have to adopt a F you attitude to survive in the workplace. If not people walk on your ass.

And I always check to see if they brought all my requested sauces/extras before I pay them. If they forgot, I'll say "you forgot my marinara" as I hand them their extra quarter.

Don't get me wrong....I'll gladly buy their CD (if I like the band) to help support them. But I'm not going to tip the band that just played....after I paid money to get into the show.

You are right. I was in Subway the other day and the same thing. You made my $5.00 foot long without ****ing it up, great job. If you would have screwed it up, I would be back at the counter and you would be trying it again. I'm standing there telling you exactly what I want on it, I watch you make it from 2 feet away, I pay at the cashier and you want a tip? Not going to happen. If I go out to eat and the waiter does a great job, I give him a great tip. If he does an ok job, I give him an ok tip. If he does a bad job, his tip is going to be, look both ways when you cross the street dickweed. I tip to service period.

Yeah that is pretty stupid. I would have told them as much. Maybe they had a story with it or something. I know some pretty big bands have just quit because they can make more money with benifits in the real world but just having a tip jar there is cheesy and if they are any kind of punk band you should have stolen that shit. The thing that is backbreaking is when you are a band, trying to break your credit buying decent equipment to sound like a real band and someone steals your shit. but back to the point. I in all seriousness would have gone upto them and asked them what the deal was. Every band I met at pointfest couldn't be nicer sick puppies, saving able, etc. They were nice as shit.

Tipping bartenders pisses me off too.

So, mr. bartender, you charge me $4 for that heineken, then you deserve an extra buck just because you took the cap off for me? Its a twist off, you didn't brew the f-ing thing.

And its sitting right there! I could get it myself, and wouldn't have to wait for you to stop flirting with the person at the end of the bar just for the pleasure of overpaying you for my beer.
