I was told my last day with Sprint will be the 27th. Oh well, close one chapter and open another I suppose. Sure sucks though. To all those countless others going through the same shit.

Enjoy a few days off and hit the bricks. Man I'm not looking forward to finding a job in this market. I hope I don't have to move

Not to rub it in, but that place was schizophrenic during even the best days of the 90's economy.

They dumped SO much money in to R&D, and never really came up with a proprietary "gold mine", so to speak.

I do wish you the best of luck in finding a new job; I hate job hunting.

Autodesk isn't the "big boy" cad either, unless you're deep into 3D.
I've got plenty of connections for those type of jobs, may be hiring a cad monkey of my own soon...but you don't need to apply.

Sorry to hear that man, Sprint has been a mess with layoff's, especially the IT group. IT is getting it the worst, 3 different sets of layoffs for this round is a flipping joke, I'm not sure how they expect anyone to do anything. I think the company has had layoffs every year for the last 7 or 8, terrible way to do business. Kind of screwy that they are keeping you around to the end of the month, they could have just walked you out the door and paid you to the end of the month like the are doing in other groups. At least their severance package is nice, my SiL got laid off after 11 years at her company and only got 5 weeks.
