This is what I wrote earlier in a draft forum post:

I know most don't want him and he's not a sexy pick, but I seriously think Tyson Jackson will be beast in the NFL. Maybe not quite Seymour, but much better than Warren and Spears.

If you just look at his stats then I would understand being underwhelmed, but watching his tape is really impressive when considering what Pioli looks for in D-linemen. He's going to make everyone around him better and our run defense is going to be stout.

Guys like Olshansky, Castillo, and Canty are the ones that allow Merriman and Ware to put up crazy numbers and constantly get in the backfield.

Pioli bashing before we see the Chiefs play a game? Hilarious.

Lets just bring CP back.
I really can't think of a single pick that will make people happy in here.

I am happy with TJ.

Welcome to KC, TJ.

I guess we just found out Belichick was the brains in the Patriots organization.

I can't believe there are so many people pissy about this pick. I think that next to Raji, this is the best pick the Chiefs could have made. And Raji seems to have some work ethic issues.

Who cares if he's a reach? The reason he's a reach is because the Chiefs run a 3-4 defense and Jackson is only valuable to 1/4 of the teams in the NFL. If the Chiefs didn't take Jackson, the Browns could easily take him at #5.

And who the hell cares about stats? His role isn't about stats. He's there to open up lanes for the pass rushers to zip through. This is a really solid pick. Not spectacular, but it's a good one.

I watched damn near every game LSU played last year. He was not dominant in any game. Serviceable is a good word for him.

Seems obvious: they didn't get any decent trade offers.

We did get a 3-4 DE, and we did have the worst front 7 in the history of the NFL last year. Is it a little high for him, probably so. But oh well. Pioli and Haley got their pick of everyone in the draft minus two, and selected him. I'll go with that.
