How are we going to replace TG from the draft?

We have to wait until tomorrow until Chiefs pick again. WIth the remaining picks can they fill the void on offense that was left after trading TG?

Are there sleepers out there in the later rounds that can replace future HOFer TG?

We have Cassel, LJ, and Bowe. This does not look like a powerhouse offense.

Looks like we are not going to put a lot of points on the board.

Looks like we will have to wait until next year's draft to get some offensive weapons. Looks like we'll have at least a top 10 pick maybe even another top 5 unfortunately.

I'm interested in seeing what our Offense will look like this year. It doesn't look great right now.

I saw teams make dumb trades at least three times today.
What's that prove?

Yeah it's not like they don't have 6 picks tomorrow in a deep offensive draft.

We aren't, Haley's offense doesn't use a tightend as much.

If empirical proof that future 1st round picks are devalued an entire round still has you in disbelief then you're hopeless.

Unless they trade for Boldin, the Chiefs aren't getting someone from the draft tomorrow who will come in and instantly become a #1 WR... which is what they need. Bowe is not a #1 guy and will be exposed for all of his shortcomings without Tony Gonzalez next season... UNLESS the Chiefs compliment him with a legit #1 WR.

Finally, A sane person and response! No ONE can replace Gonzo. Nor should we think it will happen. But, maybe another TE will come along that works with the system.....Remember, There was and never will be another Derrick Thomas! But good players have shown up.

Haley's offense in Arizona had two legitimate #1's on it.
And a guy who could probably be a respectable #2 in Breaston.
And a QB who is used to spreading the ball around and winging it.

Why do we assume that he'll handle the current assortment of players the same way he did in Arizona?

Sheesh... Stop saying that already.

I don't think Haley's as big a fan of using the TE as much as we are used to.

Let me back up. I misspoke.
Denver traded a future 1st to move up in the 2nd Round.
That doesn't apply.

Who were the two teams that made trades into the First Round?
Let me inspect both trades.

Let's hope the Chiefs offense doesn't fall completely off a cliff without Tony Gonzalez like the Chiefs defense has since DT's death.

And what "good players" have "shown up" on defense to do anything CLOSE to replacing the impact or presence that DT had on the Chiefs defense?

Peter King's opinion and the guy who created the draft value chart, himself, be damned.

Okay.
SMH.
You still haven't provided any links to JJ"s comment. You're also taking the opinion of a dumbass journalist over what ACTUAL TEAMS and ACTUAL GMs are doing. I could take you outside and show you the sky is blue and you'd argue that it isn't because Peter King says it's purple.

JFC.

I didn't see any teams trade a future first for a first round pick today. Or a future 2nd for a 2nd round pick today.

Jared Allen was about the only one....NO ONE can replace DT. Just like Joe Delaney

Well, after we aquire the 24th and 90th pick from Atl for Dorsey, then trade Arz for Boldin, Then trade our top pick for Den 2 top pick, then we trade that top pick for Phi top 2 picks, then trade NE top picks, then draft a QB and LB, then...oh wait...

that was the ChiefsPlanet's version of todays draft. What happened again?

I didn't say any teams made trades into the 1st round. My entire argument is that future 1st round picks are devalued an entire round. That would mean a 1st round pick in 2010 is equivalent to a 2nd round pick in 2009.

Denver traded a 2010 1st round pick for a 2009 2nd round pick.

Carolina traded a 2010 1st round pick for a 2009 2nd round pick.
