In Gamestops defense, they do give you a 7 day no questions asked refund on all used games. Good if you are not sure if you will like something or not.

So you get a $55 used game for $49.50, which is $10 off. If you use this perk 3 times in one year its worth it. Not to mention you get 10% extra trade in credit, or during certain promos you get 20%-30%, or an extra $10 credit for every 2 games you turn in. I would say having the card saved me in total about $90 last year. Worth it, IMO. |

Did I say ME was as popular as COD4? No... I just said it was MY 2nd favorite game.

Sorry. Misunderstood ya there. I thought you were saying ME was the second most popular game or something like that. I've never played it so I know nothing about it other than its cheap price.

IMO gamefly is the way to go, try the game out with your rental plan, and if you like it, "keep it" and they will ship you the case and manual for a reasonable price, about the same price as Gamestop generally but sometimes cheaper.
Honestly, you have to wait for deals to get good prices on used games - which they run quite often. You generally won't get the more popular ones though.

I was 8-0 on NBA 2k8 and would generally refer to it as pwning n00bs to my friends. Had about 20 games where I was kicking ass so bad they just quit and I didn't get credit for it. Then I played a game about a week ago after not playing for almost a year and the dude kicked my ass. Beat my by like 25. Turns out he was ranked 4th overall in 2k8. Found out I'm still a n00b to some people.

In December, Target was still selling Madden 09 for the 360 at $60. They were also selling the Madden 09 special anniversary edition at half price. Bought that for $40. It was hilarious.

Yeah a little over a month ago I traded in some stuff and the guy who was on the other register decided to but in after I said no to their Edge program. The conversation went roughly as so:
"Are you sure, its an extra $15 saved today, then you just have to pay for the membership for $10." "Nah I don't see the point in paying $10 to get that, I'd rather get more credit for next go around. Thanks though." "But you'll get more credit for your trade ins." "So for this trade in I'll get more credit if I sign up for your service?" "No, for your next trade in." "OK, then no, I don't trade in alot I just had things lying around and wanted Resident Evil 5." "But you'll be saving money in the long run." "It's not money, its credit for used games." "That's better than money!" "Are you ****ing kidding me?" He continued on to mumble while his coworker just wanted to avoid the embarrassment and finish the sale. But he was a damn idiot that would'nt take no for an answer. As a manager in the food industry I can tell you that the lower paid worker bee's will always suck up to the manager if they're standing right next to them, trying to get that extra add on sale, in this case the manager sat there and heard all this persistence and uncomfortable conversation and didn't do a damn thing to just tell him to cool it. As a customer I found myself just wanting to say I said no, and the job part of me wanted to say.... I said no. Not that this story has anything to do with the original post, just a funny thing that happened to me. |
