I close on June 8 and have until July 1 to be out of my apartment. That will be three places in three years. Luckily, this is my first house (*YEESSSSSS*), and I feel it will be a much longer stay there.
I'm torn; I could take one day and reluctantly move everything, hating every hour I'm there... or, I could engage in a much more convenient, yet time consuming, process of moving over the course of three weeks. I'm hate the first idea, but think it would be sooo much better than the latter.

I helped my SIL move in July in central Texas. I am quite sure it hit 100 that afternoon and the inside of the truck was much, much hotter. I am a skinny guy and I think I lost 20 pounds that day.

When we moved across town from the parsonage to our own house it wasn't bad 'cause you could spread it out a little. Moving to a different town/state is much worse IMO.
Luckily for us, the last move involved several people from the church we are at now bringing a semi truck and trailer up and helping us load up. Since the truck was thiers, it didn't cost anything. I must say, it's much easier to cram the belongings of a family of 5 into a 48' semi trailer than it is to get the junk in a 27' U-haul.

I've moved six times since 1996...all job-related. My children sometimes suspect that I am secretly working for the Army....
I am lucky with all my moves...company paid for everything. mmaddog ******* |

I thought the same thing, but now I'm in the process of buying my 3rd house in 8 years.

It is well spent money. During the week and the middle of the month, it is cheaper.
