Derrick Mason retires

Maybe McNair's death bummed him out so much he didn't want to play anymore.

Not a HOF'er, but a very respectable career.

From Rotoworld:

Derrick Mason surprisingly announced his retirement from pro football Monday.

The announcement comes on JockLife.com, a website owned by Mason's agents Peter Schaffer and Lamont Smith. It's legit. Mason was coming off shoulder surgery and requested a pay raise earlier this offseason, but says this decision is based more on emotions. "Emotionally I am just not that enthused." Assuming Mason doesn't change his mind, the Ravens are woefully thin at wideout with Mark Clayton and Demetrius Williams atop the depth chart. Mason finishes his career with 790 catches, good for 23rd all time. Jul. 13 - 5:14 pm et

Throwing the ball. We have one of the most dynamic offensive coaches for a HC.

Which will come into full play in a year or two. This year, not so much IMHO.

Dude, we're going to get ass stomped. There is no way our offense does shit against that D. Especially the first game in the season.

As far as being one dimensional, they were one dimensional last year until the last few games and they still beat people.

As shitty of a HC as Cameron was, he is a good OC and will find ways to get production. Even if it is lining up backup OTs at TE and running it even though you know it is coming. They did that last year too.

One team made it to the conference championship, the other team won 2 games all year.
