Another villain tournament. This time, the Chiefs.

Who are the greatest villains in the Chiefs organization, current or historical? They can be players, coaches, general managers, mascots, cheerleaders, announcers, trainers, groundskeepers, or anyone else. Players can be gametime goats, free agent or draft busts, defectors, or anything else you deem worthy. We'll develop a list of 64 and have a tournament.

I will start the bidding with a rather obscure one. During the dark days of the Chiefs, we had a shining light at free safety, a hard-hitting, fast, productive, multiple-pro-bowl free safety named Gary Barbaro. He was my favorite player, and he abandoned me for the United States Football League.

Oooooo! I know one!

The guy we signed from Dallas that reneged on the deal. Tony Cassillas was his name I think?

If Blackledge doesn't bust...not even become great, just not ****ing bust...the entire trajectory of this franchise would have been different.

Oh! Vonnie Holliday, the one-game wonder. Who was that injured Tennessee DE that we brought in that one year who never played? Maybe Duane Clemons, too.

Carlton Gray? (Sorry if you're posting, Carlton, but I don't expect you to get to the finals or anything.)

Any big ego-driven holdouts?

I'll also propose Mike Bell for getting his coke-snorting nose tossed in prison one year when we needed a defensive end.

The absolute hands down worst mistake EVER by this franchise. I hated him in college and thought if they take a qb ANYONE but him...
that pick made hiring herm look brillant by comparison.

So true. If he had become merely the "serviceable quarterback", things would have turned out much different, I believe.

I'll toss out a recent guy, Eddie Drummond, and a guy who may be a victim, but what the heck: Victor Bailey.

Oh, hey. Jimmy Raye. The inventor of the "I'll do the opposite of what's logical every single time in the hopes that it will fool them" philosophy.

I'll offer up Ethan Horton. Not only a huge first round bust as a running back, but he spent most of his career as a fairly good Raider's tight end. Double whammy.
