Starting quarterback: Cassel or Croyle?

Unfortunately, this question is the talk of the week.

Croyle had a 2 touchdown, 0 interception performance against the Ravens in a 38-24 loss. He led Kansas City to 11 first downs and 188 total yards.

Cassel had a 1 touchdown, 2 interception performance against the Raiders in a 13-10 loss. He led Kansas City to 25 first downs and 409 total yards.

A....*ahem*......"quarterback controversy". Just what we needed, right? So, let's go ahead and amuse ourselves.....Cassel or Croyle? Here. We. Go.......

Should be Cassel. I must say that while Cassel has more talent, Croyle managed the game better. Cassel's highs were higher, but his lows were lower.

At this point, I don't think you can really go wrong with either of them, but Cassel should be in there for the future.

To be fair, I would've voted for him 4 months ago assuming he used his off-season to work on his footwork from under centre and practiced his deep ball. You cannot deny that he turned the Chiefs' offense into something better than 'atrocious' last season.

Unfortunately, he shit the bed in the pre-season, and is deservingly the least-appreciated man on the QB depth chart.

Nor is there a 'Bring back Casey Printers' option.

I regret voting in this travesty of democracy.

Ted White was perhaps the worst, longest-tenured QBs in CFL history; he was doing QB sneaks on 3rd an 1 for Montreal till he was well past 42 and nobody had a clue until he retired and said 'at 45, I've had enough'. Don't know that I ever actually saw him complete a pass...

Like Parker expounded on after Week 1, Croyle has been ruined. He doesn't look to throw down the field often enough. Even when he does, he doesn't want to take a chance with the ball.

That interception Cassel threw last week on the pass intended for Savage? I want him deciding to chuck that rock every single time. It's risky, because if it's overthrown, it's an interception. But it's also a chance for a big play.

And if we stop making a 5-8 receiver run downfield routes, the pick doesn't happen (that's really my only criticism of Haley from the last game. I don't know why the **** you have a midget run a seam route. What the ****? I guess it might take a defender by surprise.)

I gotta agree with that. I don't know what he was doing in the middle of the field, other than his speed might have commanded some attention...but why in the hell was he thrown to...hell, either time?

There were a handful of missteps easily recalled from that game, but I'm willing to move on and look forward - long season left.
