We Are The Most Feared Playoff Team -VC

Most feared? Playoff field includes number of dangerous teams

Vic Carucci: Chiefs

The Chiefs have tremendous potential to keep their feel-good story alive for a few more weeks. Although they've been far stronger at home, they're built well enough to succeed in the postseason. With the NFL's best rushing attack, the Chiefs can utilize a ball-control attack anywhere to help minimize the most explosive opposing offenses and allow their own offense to be effective in the worst conditions Mother Nature can deliver. Matt Cassel is peaking at the perfect time under the guidance of Charlie Weis, who has plenty of experience calling plays in the postseason. Romeo Crennel, also no stranger to this time of year, has put together a playoff-caliber defense. And Todd Haley is smart enough to let his coordinators coach.

Cassel is peaking? Was this written prior to noon on Sunday?

The whole premise that the Chiefs are the "most feared" team is ridiculous. Chiefs are a good team that could beat anyone if everything is clicking, but that goes for a lot of teams. But who is the team that anyone would want to avoid playing--that is obviously the Pats.

I think it's amazing how little anyone is talking about Pittsburgh. I know how great New England is playing but I think Pittsburgh has the chance to bust somebody up. We really haven't had a Roethlisberger/Manning or Roethlisberger/Brady playoff matchup since Ben's really entered "elite QB" status.

I don't know about all that...

KC has a great running game, nice passing game and solid defense... but the Ravens still match up well defensively vs those strengths.

#1 Rushing offense vs #5 Rushing defense
#30 Passing offense vs #21 Passing defense
#12 Overall offense vs #10 Overall defense

If Baltimore is successful with limiting the runners early, it could get ugly - that's the key when playing the Chiefs.

It will need to be a huge day for KC's defense against a Baltimore team that has played poorly/inconsistently considering the talent they have on offense.

Similar comparisons are well-suited for the KC D.

#14 Rushing offense vs #14 Rushing defense
#20 Passing offense vs #17 Passing defense
#22 Overall offense vs #14 Overall defense

We need to throw the ball to beat Baltimore. Their pass D is lackluster. That means Bowe and Brokaki out the ass, and working Charles in the screen game to take the mustard out of their blitzes.

Baltimore's D is old and can be beaten. If we can get a couple of long drives going early, we have a good chance of wearing them out. If we can keep them on the field & get them tired, we stand a very good chance of winning this game.

I am very interested to see what Haley has in store for this game. I would not be surprised to see him draft up some new plays custom tailored for the Ravens.
