Sometimes a change just has to be made. My posts may make it seem as though I think he's a bad coach, but I don't. I just don't think he's all that good of a coach. His teams were stacked for along time. They were pre-season SB favorites a few times, and a lot of his teams under achieved. He just seems Meh to me, and his hire doesn't really frighten me, or make me happy. He's just another coach IMO.

Seriously? BB was fired in Cleveland, Dungy in Tampa, Shannahan in Denver, Billick in Baltimore. All of those guys won Superbowls. You have to be "good" just to get there.

So once they have a coach, will Elway actually let them have the coaches office?

They'll either go 15-1 or 1-15.

But within a 3 year period they'd end up 15-1, rinse and repeat.
I don't like that idea.

I hear McDaniels is free though.

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

Very true... and again, I have no idea who the best candidate is at this point... Fox, Dennison, other? All I can do is hope that they're smart enough to make the right call. I don't think there's any question that those 2 guys I listed are fine candidates, but we'll see what happens.

And, Elway is new in the role, but to think he can't be a good judge of talent and how to build a team .. it's a bit early to throw that stone. Elway saw a lot during his time, several different ways to build a team. Arena is different than the NFL, but he was successful in that venture... so we'll see what he's able to do and how the new hierarchy works out.

Dude. Fox didn't inherit an "expansion" team. They were in the league for almost a decade before he took over the team.

As someone who's been following the Panthers since they drafted DeAngelo Williams, this is the best news I could hope to hear.

I don't know who would be best for them either, I was mainly just taking a jab at them with that and Knowmo teed that up pretty high.
I thought Daniels was going to be a great hire for the Broncos, so WTH do I know? He turned out to be better for us than Denver.
