Dead Island combines first-person action with a heavy focus on melee combat, character development and customization of a vast array of weapons. All of these gameplay features are presented in a dark story inspired by classic zombie movies with a gritty and engrossing campaign that can be played with up to four players in co-op mode.

Set in an open world tropical island, hordes of different festering zombies await players around every corner while they embark on a variety of thrilling missions through the holiday resort. With firearms and ammunition being scarce the player must rely on utilizing found items as weapons for self-defense and fight off zombie hordes in intense melee combat. A diverse range of items can be collected and will later serve to transform the player’s ordinary makeshift weapons into serious instruments of destruction.

I played for 7 hours I would recommend it if ur a L4D fan but doesn't have much guns though still havent got to that part yet as I am trying to level up just doing side quest mostly.

The Steam version that released yesterday was a dev version with tons of glitches. How they ****ed that up, I have no clue.

It's also getting pretty mediocre reviews. They knew the game wasn't great so they wouldn't let anyone review it until release - I hate it when they do that.

I don't care much for zombie games, but i have to say this one has been a pleasant surprise. The plotline is good, and the action is fun as well. Borderlands is 10x better though, so don't expect anything similiar to Borderlands. I haven't even found a firearm yet.

The new resident evil game for ps3 looks sweet. Too bad i hated RE 5...like the old school style of gameplay

An incorrect version of Dead Island made its way on to Steam this week. That has now been replaced and Deep Silver has promised a hefty patch for Europe's Friday launch.

However, some saved games created while playing the incorrect version of Dead Island may be in danger, due to the incompatibility between the two builds. The danger, in this case, being a wiped Dead Island saved game.

Lolz was just about to post this up, I think the game is getting a bad rap though. Fun factor i value above all else and it has lots of that.

Rented it for the last couple of days and it's actually not that bad of a game. There are a couple of issues that I had with it....but I'll probably end up buying it.
