The Charles contract is a joke of a good deal for the Chiefs (until he holds out, of course).

I'm ok with Jamaal playing on that contract for 1 year...but if he has another 2010 like campaign...
if he isn't rewarded, he should hold out, and as a Chiefs fan I'd be mad at the Chiefs, not Jamaal. If a player performs above their contract, I have no issues with them wanting to get paid...because when they underperform they get the boot faster than they can say knowmoisahomo... |

Maybe this is why the Chiefs have been such cheapskates for the most part the last couple of years. Bowe, Flowers, Carr, DJ are all coming up on contracts, and JC could demand a new one. Maybe?

the homer in me thinks the Chiefs have probably more talent than just about any team in the NFL...
too bad we lack at QB... here's to hoping Cassel takes that leap (though, I am doubtful) |

I don't think Jamaal is the kind of guy who will hold out.
He seems like someone who will be content to play football under the deal he signed.

I love me some Jamaal Charles, but c'mon, guys.
Johnson is getting this deal based on three ridiculous seasons. Dude's averaged over 1800 yards from scrimmage over his career. He also carries a full-time load for the Titans. JC got his deal based on one solid season. JC's not necessarily underpaid, guys like Williams and CJ are overpaid. Tennessee was stupid to give a RB $30M guaranteed, and the Chiefs would be stupid to do anything resembling that for JC. JMO. |

that's fine, the Titans utilize CJ different than we utilize Charles...
but IMHO, Charles is every bit as talented as CJ...if Charles and CJ switched spots, I bet their production would switch spots as well. |

The good news there is that JC will outlive CJ on the field. The Chiefs are smart the way the use JC, while CJ is THE focal point for that offense, or has been to this point.

They get them based on production. And I disagree with your view on switching spots. CJ's missed one game in 3 years while averaging over 300 carries each year. 99.9 percent of this board, and apparently the coaching staff, considering how he gets used, thinks JC can't handle more than 260 touches a season without breaking. CJ's produced at an insane clip for 3 years. JC's produced at an elite clip for 1. I'm fans of both players, but giving any RB $30M guaranteed is pretty stupid IMO. |

It's funny how the Titans are almost EXACTLY in the same position as the 2007 Chiefs.
1. Roster in need of overhaul 2. Starting a brokedick QB 3. Young talented WR 4. RB coming off two years of heavy use, including 400+ touch season, signs stupid contract
