AFCW - so is Oakland going to win it?

Granted... I don't see the AFCW Champion doing anything in the playoffs, barring some fantastic wildcard weekend match-up with another struggling team.

At this point, through week 11:

Raiders 6-4 / 2-2 div (split with Den)
Broncos 5-5 / 2-2 div
Chiefs 4-5* / 2-2 div
Chargers 4-6 / 2-2 div

Raiders remaining: CHI / @ MIA / @ GBP / DET / @ KCC / SDC
Broncos remaining: @ SDC / @ MIN / CHI / NEP / @ BUF / KCC
Chiefs remaining: @ NEP / PIT / @ CHI / @ NYJ / GBP / OAK / @ DEN
Chargers remaining: DEN / @ JAX / BUF / BAL / @ DET / @ OAK

Are the Raiders sitting pretty with only a 1 game lead?

I think the Chiefs have a pretty brutal stretch...
I have no idea how to project Denver - looks tough, but with Cutler and the Bills falling... it's not horrible.
Chargers ... I just don't know what to expect, another late season rally?

Raiders ... I could see them pulling this off and again, I realize it means very little, but looking ahead can be fun.

The Broncos really need to beat SD this week... if they can do this, then anything is possible, but even at 4-6, the Chargers are dangerous - lots of talent.

I would like to find a way for Oakland not to win the division, but it looks like they have a strong chance.

True, but when a team loses... you can typically point to a half dozen plays throughout the game... not just "that last play" and say had something different happened here, it would have changed the course of the game.

I'll give you the Miami game... there's no denying that one.

In the Jets game, they were up 10-3 in the 3rd quarter when the Pick 6 happened... there were 4:32 minutes left in the 3rd quarter when Goodman tied it up with that INT return. It was 3rd and 6 and NY was likely going to punt again, giving DEN great field position again...

That INT was one of many different things you could point to...

Those cannot be argued.

Freaking miracles.
See my reply to Fax and I don't think anyone would say Sanchez throwing an INT is a miracle... especially when you see how he played that night. Hell, the pass just before the INT should have been picked off.

Sanchez is not a very good QB... he's ridden the defense and ground game. Tebow is doing that now... time for him and the receivers to step it up.

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

But, my guess is that the Faiders will self-implode from this point forward. All of a sudden-like they are going to start losing and losing bad. Once that starts to happen, they'll begin fighting with their coaches and amongst each other. Somebody will get hurt bad - stabbed or shot or ass-drilled or something - and then, during the ensuing federal investigation, the authorities will discover a meth lab in their locker room where their training staff has been cooking up steroids and some kind of amphetamine that turns a normal human being into a toad-man.

If the Raiders don't figure out how to score in the second half and if Pussyfoot keeps sitting out it's anybodys division.

Chiefs only winnable games are the Broncos and Raiders. I can totally see the Raiders blowing this and giving it to the Doncs, especially after the Raiders get swept by the Chiefs.

You should go to my site sometimes and see how much of a homer I am...

I am sick of the penalties, I am sick of watching my team dominate for 3 qtrs and be sitting on the edge of my seat watching the team having to defend for their lives on the teams last drive of the game. I am sick of my team playing one way for 3 3/4 qtrs and then all they do is leave 2 mins on the clock.

Lots of things piss me off about my Raiders...

I love the team but they snatch defeat from the jaws of victory more than any team I have ever seen in my life.

The penalty thing is just wierd. No matter how many players and coaches they change, they always rack up the penalties. Most of them are reeruned personal fouls too.

It baffles me, Look I am all for a good holding penalty to protect the qb, even can handle a few motion penalties but the personal foul shit baffles me.

If I were an opponent of the Raiders, and I was down on the scoreboard I would send out a 3rd stringer to do nothing but pick a fight with a Raider because they are too stupid most of the time to back down and I have no idea why, even new players same shit... It gets old, there is no telling how many games the Raiders have lost over the past 10 years on penalties alone.

It's so bad that if the Raiders get less than 7 penalties a game I think that is actually good.
