I'd much rather have Peyton Manning than Peyton Manning.

What a silly thread. The obvious choice is Peyton Manning.

You can say Manning all day, or you can throw out Manning. That's great and all, but what this team really needs right now is Manning... not Manning.

As much as I would like to jump on the bandwaggon to do so, I just don't have that awe about him nor think that he will bring us a Super Bowl title just because his name is Peyton ****ing Manning. Don't get me wrong it would be faptacious if he would do so. If we get him great, I can deal with it (put's on sunglasses) but, I am going be critical of the move & anything short of Super Bowl glory is FAIL on the part of this organization with bringing him here. I'd much rather do whatever it takes to move up and snag RGIII, if not possible then see what the hell Stanzi can do & hope we can end up with opportunity to draft a top teir QB in next years draft. I didn't want Joe Freaking Montana and I really don't want Peyton ****ing Manning. At some point we got to draft and play a QB for long term success or we are just going to continue this purgatory of medeocracy that we are in. Can we win games with Peyton Manning sure we can and probly kick some ass while doing it, just that he is old beat up & had neck surgery & wont take much knock him out of the game.

Please carry on with the fun you guys are having in all this, it's been fun so far & if we happen to get Peyton Manning I will root for him to win but I will also be critical of it as being a "true fan" move that it is. "True Fans want want True Fans get".

Ya know I'm getting more and more open to the idea of Peyton Manning in a Chiefs uniform. I think he can bring an extra level of play out of the team and really give us an opportunity to win big. As long as he is healthy and can give us a few extra years to enjoy & not just wash up after a one and done season. I'm hopefull that we can win with him. Sign me up for that, even tho I prefer a top draft pick, I can be happy with Peyton Manning as long as we win with him.

I'd rather we got Luck or RG3 too but those don't appear at all realistic. Peyton does and I've always been a fan of his so I'd be pretty excited if we got him. Do I think he's the be-all, end-all QB? No. But I'd be happy to "settle" for a major upgrade at the position even with the injury.

Of course with our luck we'll sign him, he'll have a set back, push through it and try to play, play poorly, decide it's not worth risking his long term health and retire after week 3 next season. Then Cassel is back on the field.

Here's a pic of Peyton Manning taking in some batting practice with his buddy Todd Helton of the Colorado Rockies. Apparently Manning hit a home run at one point:

That's the exact fear I have, so it's a matter of risk/reward. Anything short of Super Bowl would be major disapoint tho. We win it and Holy Tutti Frutti Batman!
