How long have you driven to get something you wanted?
I am going to embark on a 11+ hour (one way) trip to Oklahoma to pickup my dream car. What kind of dream car is it? I'm glad you asked, I am going to purchase a 1984 4 door Buick LeSabre limited, this is the 3rd one I will own. The other two were sold years ago. I am getting a great deal on this car $1900.00 and it only has 46k miles on it. It's from a dealership in Wagoner OK. Anyways, I hate driving, especially on a long road trip, but for this car I will make the Voyage.

How far have you driven to get something you wanted. Obviously this will be over the weekend so I can get back to work Monday.

I drove straight thru to N'Awlins to see the Chiefs opener in '94 because I wanted to see Montana play the Saints.

I drove non-stop to Chicago to see a band called Porcupine Tree because I wanted to see them live again.

From KC to the Metro theatre in Chicago to see my kid's band open for The Fray. Also went to the Shoreline Amphitheatre south of San Francisco to do the same thing but I flew the first leg from KC to SF.

I honestly have no idea how much it will cost to do that. I bought an 84 LeSabre off Ebay about 3-4 years ago for $1200 bucks. I got quotes from a bunch of shipping places to pick it up in PA and ship it to Columbus and it was like a grand.

Grandkids LOL you have to have kids first. I just love the early 80's big body buicks. The 85 LeSabre was the last year for the RWD Lesabres. The 85's and 84's are almost exactly the same, but the 84's are much cheaper. They are getting ridiculous to try and find though. Not a sought after car, but it is a car that many people junked, so they are hard to find. This is the first nice one I have found in a year or so.

If I had the knowledge to work on it myself and somewhere to put it, I'd love to get another mid 80s Cutlass Supreme coupe. I had an '85 and loved it. Always makes me happy when I see one that is well maintained.

But still, I just don't get the old bulky sedan love. A Regal coupe, or a Riviera, sure, but..... why that?
