#5 (George Brett), the ones so many girls in the KC area (including me) had a crush on while growing up is 60 years old today.

Please tell me this is not true.

BTW I am less than 4 months younger than his wife so I guess I was not too young for him after all.

Here's a story: my mom used to work at Marion Merrell Dow (nee Marion Labs), the pharmaceutical company once owned by Mr. Kauffman. Well, one night she's at some Royals gala and sees George Brett. Well, having a son who grew up idolizing the guy, she asks him for an autograph (apparently they had a stock of baseballs ripe for signing). He says something to the effect of "the only way you're going to get that baseball signed is if you go out with me sometime". She came home with a signed David Cone baseball that night.

Proud of you, mom. Even if I could possibly have a younger brother who has incredible baseball genetics.
